Expert Posts: 2996 Location: Sept. 1958 | The seat buttons are hard to find, they were only used on CR Lancers. No new ones are being made. Most of the 58s, not all, have this style 4 way power seat switch and housing. (image.jpg) Attachments ---------------- image.jpg (158KB - 202 downloads)

Expert Posts: 2996 Location: Sept. 1958 | I have two of these that I bought on eBay NOS in the box. The outer bezel looks to be stainless but cheap stainless because it rusts. Location: The Mile High City | Hi, Matt: I am glad you got those. I think I put in at least one bid, so I hope I didn't raise the price on you! It's funny with those eBay auctions, if you knew who you were bidding against, it might change the way you bid! So, to build a Custom Royal interior, you would need four of these buttons (two for each seat back), correct? Or would you need two extra for the rear of the front seat back??? Jan mentioned that all six of his were missing. Edited by Lancer Mike 2014-10-28 3:24 PM

Expert Posts: 1906 Location: Ontario, Canada | Actually, 6 way seat. There is a small bracket welded onto the seat frame to accept the bezel mounting screws. I used to have a pic of it!? Greg

They used 6, 4 for front seat, 2 for rear.

Member Posts: 29 Location: Woodland CA | Nice pictures Neil ! Did the 58 Dodge Custom Royal have the seat covers like the ones you posted. My car had alot of parts missing. But I that I had everything collected now. I got a set of covers , simular that you posted on E-bay for a 58 dodge . But they did not fit. Looking at the seat, there is no holes to bolt covers like that on it. Make me think, it never had it!!?? The car is now being painted, and hoping to have it driveble next summer. Will post pictures later. Don't know exact what to do for seatbuttons?Very hard to make six who are missing. I got alot of help with pictures and measurement and all. We will se what we do.Possible I have to do without. To bad.You can not get the standard silver welt for the seat enymore. Only a smaller size, and it don't look as good as the original fat one!! Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | If you mean the pipeing, provided you can get the material its made of, you can make it I was looking at the rear seat from my dodge and the pipeing is made from the same material (shiney square metalic stuff) thats used on the door trims I have some and was playing with my sewing machine to see if it would stitch ok and it did I havnt tried to make the pipeing itself yet out of the metalic stuff, but did with some vinyl, but I dont see it being a problem, just not sure how squashed it might get from the feet on the sewing machine

Expert Posts: 2996 Location: Sept. 1958 | Here's some seat photos from an original USA-built 58 CRL 2 dr ht. The silver piping maybe had, I saw some in a guys 58 Edsel Pacer few years back, but the quality isn't good. It was delaminating/ the cover coming off and it had been recently done. It was as thick as the OEM stuff as I recall. Expert Posts: 2996 Location: Sept. 1958 | Yeah, it won't look OE. If you go to http://hasselsvensson.se/Dodge%20bilar/dodge58customroyal.htm you'll see some replacements are like that. If you know a fabricator the bezels maybe able to be made up?

Member Posts: 29 Location: Woodland CA | Lancer Mike ! I am looking at your buttons on the pictures you posted. Your buttons are made without the bezel. That is what I think I have to do. It looks pretty good. Did you use 1/4 plywood and glue and stapels to hold it togheder? Jan,

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9604 Location: So. Cal | Thanks for the measurements. I am thinking of reproducing these in Stainless Steel using 3D printing. Stainless would allow you to polish the edges to look like chrome. I could also do them in plastic for cheaper, but it would cost more for the chrome and won't last as long as you sit on it. I may hollow out the backside more to use less material and make it cheaper, and also to make them lighter. They won't be cheap to build though.
