Member Posts: 24 | Hi Everyone New to the Forum - I already received GREAT help in the wanted to buy section - And have a poly 4bbl intake coming in from California Now I'm seeking help concerning -- Brand Names - Part Numbers etc. - for ARP type HEAD bolts or studs NO LUCK Thus Far - I found the 318 Compatible ROD and MAIN ( ARP ) Bolts Jegs or Summit -- JUST no luck on the HEAD BOLTS If no such animal exists --- My guess would be to take my old bolts to a BOLT retailer - And match them up with GRADE "9" not 8 Or Chrome Moly Bolts (Cap Screws lol) THANKS EVER SO KINDLY FOLKS - DON 1956 SAVOY 4dr | ||

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | I am with Chuck An engineer will tell you to replace the bolts, as the bolts will have stretched and would, therefor be no good, as they would now be weaker. In the real world (as Chuck said), unless you building a monster engine thats going to get huge combustion chamber pressures (blown ect), go with the ones you want. Thats unless you want to go with the head stud look or change all the bolts to cap bolt style (ellen key headed) or something like that? | ||

Member Posts: 24 | Thanks Gentleman I appreciate the reply I Decided to go OEM - its the first tear down and only had TRUE 97000 miles on it ( Have most ot history paperwork ) Now the Million Dollar Question Anyone know if roller rockers are available for this (lol-lol) boat anchor ( joking about boat anchor ) | ||

Member Posts: 24 | L0L great reply's -I saw a pix of one online however there was no info - they looked custom made so I just thought I would ask. ---having rebuilt 2 poly 318's in the last 15 years made me me wonder now that I'm doing another poly that maybe by now a few new products might have come along - but I guess it's all in the fairy god mothers hands lol lol - soon I hope to post a url with a few pix - thanks again folks | ||

Engine has many modifications and custom parts. I will post a copy of the Dyno pulls once I receive them, hoping second week in Sept. This is Barrett Lash's 4rth and final build of the motor that has been his test-bed of ideas to make the poly really perform. The 1st project build was done in 1980, had 318 cubes, a Racer Brown Solid Cam and a single 4 barrel. It pushed the 4000# 66 fury to 14.30s (about 1hp per cubic inch). 31 Years later: it is now 362 CI, has a Milodon gear drive, hydraulic roller cam, custom billet roller rockers, Hogan Sheet metal Manifold and several hundreds of hours in head and block prep. With the Fury now down to 2800#, Barret expects to do alot better than 14s....and for those who say the POLY can't make big power to shut up!
