Can anyone enlighten me on how to remove the glass from the chrome side window frames on my '57 Dodge convert? I see rivets at the corners, and sure hope I don't have to drill those out. Glass is good but need to re-chrome the frames. Also, hints on how to disassemble the front vent window frames, also for chroming?

As you suspected, you (unfortunately) have to drill out the rivets. It is the only way to go. Same for the vent window frames.

The divider between the vent and the door window is stainless, but the window "frame" and the front of the vent post are/were chromed. I noticed a similar car at a swap meet yesterday had screws where mine has rivets, so I think I know the answer. Dang.

Indeed.

It's a pain in the a** but I'm afraid there's no other way. You should be able to rivet them back, though, instead of using screws. The results would be cleaner, I think.
