I just acquired this and I have been looking for related information. The only thing that I have found so far is that this group reorganized in the 60s to focus on competition events.

Are there any forum members who have additional information, such as approximae date this badge was issued, etc.?

Your best bet would be to contact the Canadian Automobile Association as they apparently absorbed the Royal Canadian Automobile Club into their organization. The Badge would have had to have been issued after 1965 as that is when the Canadian flag was changed from the Red ensign to the Maple leaf.
