Yesterday ( 7/5/2014), I delivered this very car from Portsmouth to Stoke on Trent to a private house, with instructions to pick up a "50's Chrysler" in part exchange..
My eyes nearly popped out when I got there, because there on the drive was the beautiful Oldcott '58 Saratoga waiting for me to take it back down South to Portsmouth.
Darren the owner shot off to work, and as I was strapping the Saratoga on, his wife came out to see if I wanted tea before I set off again.. Mate !! was that lady pissed off or what?
she said she didn't want the Saratoga to go, and NO WAY was the 300 stopping!!!
Now, one day later, the 300 is on ebay...And the Saratoga now lives in Portsmouth...

Later on, driving home from Portsmouth, I realised I didn't even take a single photo of the '58 !!!! I guess I was still in shock.

I'm not surprised she was pissed off, the Saratoga was a £12k car!! although it has bounced around a few people since Oldscotts sold it.

You should have called in for a brew mate, kettle is always on if you're in the area.

Actually Ian mate, I've been past your J15 quite a few times just lately, and have been tempted to call by, but I'm wary of you being on nights, and disturbing you..

I do a lot of transporting for Trojan Cars, they are a long established, reputable company and have some tasty cars, so I find it unusual that they have the Sara' listed as
manual gear box, when it is obviously a Torqueflite auto box, and as for the £230 road tax, when they know it qualifies for free road tax...Not like them to make errors like that..

See the big White Morris van in their B/W photo of their "back in the day" garage frontage? I used to have one of them in 1963.. Very handy in my courting days
