A while back, I bought a dash pad for my '57 DeSoto from "RD Autoline" in Sweden, and I finally got around to having it fitted into the car.

It fit LIKE A GLOVE!

The upholsterer was very impressed. He's a perfectionist who has been in the biz for decades, and he thought that this dash pad was perfection.

Great job by RD Autoline in Sweden!

The fellow whom I contacted was "Tony", and he is also a member here on the FL site: "swedemopar".

I think the pads are available from a US distributor also... need to get that saved up for, my '58 needs one badly if I'm going to keep and finish her... health permitting. I'm told their pads are excellent.

Oops...I would post a pic if I had thought to take one. And now the rest of the under dash, dash front, and such are currently back in pieces for re-chroming and for other purposes of an OCD manner. LOL

BUT I will be posting some pretty pic's once my car is back in presentable shape...well, ANY shape at all would be nice, for that matter.

Rosy,
Did It Break The Bank?

Well, it wasn't inexpensive, but it really is a "drop in and go" item that saves a TON of labour time, so that's cool with me.

Does anyone know anything about the current status of RD Autoline and what the normal response time is ? I sent an email a few days ago and have not gotten a reply. Not sure if its because they didn't get it, or just haven't gotten to it yet (maybe they are not currently open?) I don't want to wait for a response that's not coming...and I also don't want to be a pest. :-)

I received the quickest response by phoning the company in Sweden. I think the phone number is in the info above?

You will likely reach a message, recorded in Swedish, as did I. Don't let that prevent you from leaving a message. The amazing Swedes seem to have no trouble understanding our version of English. I just left a clear message as to what it was that I was looking for, along with all of my contact info, and I was answered via the internet within a few days.

So I'd encourage you to try to contact the company by phone for quickest results.

Good luck!

I'm super interested in purchasing a 1961 dash pad from RD Autoline in Sweden. Went to the web site and dialed number, got the message that I dialed incorrectly? So I messaged them from their page. Hoping to get a response. What is the correct way to dial from the USA? Can anyone help me contact them? Any response would mean the world to me!! I have a 1960 Saratoga but I like the look of the 61 better. They both should fit my dash I presume? Thanks

.

To call Sweden from the U.S., just follow these dialing instructions:

First dial 011, the U.S. exit code.
Next dial 46, the country code for Sweden.
Then dial the 1- to 3-digit area code and finally the 5- to 8-digit phone number.

SO:

011 46 380 37 03 13

I'd say "Bob's yer Uncle" but in this case it would be more like "Bo's din farbror"

Thanks again for the help. Just realized straight talk phone will not call international without a global add on to service. Seems like your the only one that responds

I have emailed direct and deal with Tony, emails back have been forthcoming with costings,it appears the pads are done in runs so if they are not in stock you are put in the order sequence, it appears for a 57 desoto and 60 dodge it is a spring time production .I agree they appear to be the best i have seen. It would be good to see them expand into doing the armrest pads more particularly the 60 styles with the heated seams.
