Location: Edmonton, Alberta | The car show in Smokey Lake is the last major car show in Edmonton area for the year. At least, one that takes place outside of a building!
There were a little over 300 cars there this year, and more than a few cool old cars. For a town of approximately 3000, it appeared that at some points, there were close to 1000 people in this little town's main street.
Including my own car (not pictured... you've all seen it and hasn't changed from the last time I posted it), there were four FL cars there. A 55 Savoy, a 55 Windsor and a 61 Windsor. Unfortunately, I was side tracked when I was looking at the 61, so I didn't get photos of it. It was black, with a red interior and stunning! The Savoy was a really nice survivor car. It had some patina as you'll see, but I believe this car was original paint! 6 Cylinder, manual transmission and a radio delete.
A non-forward looker I'll include as well (since Chrysler purchased AMC), is a 1959 Rambler Ambassador. Note the pushbutton automatic on this car!
So, without further ado... here's my car show photos...

Not many people know Ramblers came with push button Flashomatic automatic transmissions from 1958 through to 1962 (except the Rambler American models). The transmission was built by Borg-Warner and was actually the unit B-W built for Ford. The 1957-58 Mercury used the same pushbutton arrangement. The transmission had a second cable for Park.
The Savoy has had the front seat redone. The vinyl should be the same colour as used on the door and the cloth insert should match the upper door trim. My father owned a 1955 Dodge Regent from 1958 to 1962, although the interior was green and not blue. The Savoy appears to have one option - the heater / defroster. Powerflite and a radio were optional back then, so no radio delete. Any photos of the front of te Savoy? It does appear to be in great condition.
