Now, if we can only get a "Forwardlook-Lifestyle" board, and (being generous and observant)...a "Lowered-Look" Kustom/Hot Rod FWDLK board. Edited by d500neil 2013-10-08 4:23 PM

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13065 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | There are several threads that dont belong in the 1955-1961 Forward Look MoPar General Discussion already. As the forum is set up, all not related threads should be placed in the Neither Region. I made such mistakes myself, and probably I'll slip again, but it would be nice if we tried to keep a snug ship

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8445 Location: Perth Australia | As much as I enjoy looking at other cars, This is a Mopar forum, I think its fine as it is Another place for members other rides would be cool, might get more traffic than some of the regional places The advanyage of this forum (to me) is that I can come here and read about cars that are the same or simmilar to mine and generally learn stuff. To find stuff thats here, if this was the HAMB for example, would be very hard. Oh, and not slamming the HAMB, I do go rhere as well sometimes

Elite Veteran Posts: 988 Location: Kansas City, Kansas | Forwardlook only. I do like the thought of another section to post member's other cars (not in the Netherworld). I also like the idea of a section for posting car related 'for sale' or CL/ebay listings that are interesting, but not Forwardlook. The Nether Region is just too all-encompassing and is best for jokes and silly photos.

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | One could change the name of this subforum to "Members FWDLK Rides", and make a subforum directly under it with the name "Members (Other) Mopar Rides" for instance. I think a good number of folks here have 'newer' (60s/70s) Mopars but never post anything about that. Since a lot of (fi. drivetrain) parts from newer Mopars are usable and are being used in FWDLKers, I don't think such a subforum would be out of line on this site. I'm not sure yet if maybe a certain age-restriction could/should be kept to keep away the most of the "boring" '80s and newer dailydriver stuff. Maybe not, although personally I don't care much for cars from those years. I do vote against having GM, Ford or any other stuff posted 'here' in the normal forums. The sewer seems most appropriate for that.

Expert Posts: 2788 Location: USA - KY | I love cars of all makes and eras, and I REALLY enjoy seeing what other vehicles my FL pals own and treasure. But I still think that it would be preferable to have a separate area where folks could share and view info and photos of their non-FL cars, trucks, bikes, etc. if they so wished. That way, anyone who is interested in only the FL related posts wouldn't have to wade through all of the potential non-FL related posts and photos to get to what it is that they came to site for in the first place. As an example, the NDC site has a separate photo album "For Non DeSoto Cars" which creates an option for those who do want to enjoy those photos which can otherwise be easily avoided by those who do not. Expert 5K+ Posts: 5139 Location: cornpatch county, Southwest IOA | slimwhitman - 2013-10-09 2:08 PM I won't vote on this one, but I agree with Slim. Somewhere in the archives there was a thread about MEMBERS that can show what they drive or projects in addition to their finned Mopar. I enjoy that. There is a section in our forum here that is not FL. It is non-FL cars for sale. I don't think all other than Mopar should be regulated to the Nether Region Some folks do not feel comfortable sloshing around in the sewer, and I respect that......................MOForwardlook only. The sewer seems most appropriate for that. I am still voting for a Forwardlook-only forum and for a separate forum for other member rides, but I disagree that it should be mopar only. It should be for any car or truck. I doubt too many members here will clog the forum with their prized Chevy Corsica. It is fun to share our excitement for other project cars, whatever they may be.....and for some of us, to read about them. Same for a non-forwardlook for sale/ebay/CL forum. I would hope most posters won't be clogging the forum up with random daily drivers, but with interesting/weird/wacky/beautiful cars of any make or country of origin. Both would add more engagement opportunities for posters and readers. Isn't that what a "community" is for?

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8952 Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | if everyone is thinking i'm for posting other makes , "I"M NOT" . what i am against is making such a huge fuss over something of a non rampant nature and if the author of the thread was just here to start trouble , then i to would stand with the masses but that's not the case . the author is a long standing member that's helped a lot of people and the story line behind the thread has merit . i don't think we need a separate forum at all . it was an extremely small mistake made by a good guy . just sit back in your seat a few seconds and think about how that person is feeling about now . do you really think it was his intention to create problems . it's a big fuss over little to nothing ------------------------------------------------------later

Location: Parts Unknown | I see I am outvoted by a wide margin, but as a fan of all sorts of old cars and trucks, and understanding that man does not live by Forward Look alone, I see no issue in having a place like Member's Rides to share pictures and stories of all our cars. I even see an advantage Bob discovering that Harry also restores Henry J's and makes a connection that he might not otherwise have ever made if Harry's Henry J photos weren't allowed. I mean, why not ? The rest this site is pretty much dedicated to FL stuff. How does having a more "personal" forum cause problems ? And if it does, ask the poster to clamp it. Or we could break this out into two different forums like: "Member's Forward Look Rides" and "Member's Non-Forward Look Rides" ? I am with Chuck, ... I don't see the "problem" and actually like a little diversity.

I choose "forward look".Should this section be about ALL makes and models, or just Forward Look models? p> However I do see a crossover into the Mopar C body area and think that a section dedicated to them would benefit the forum. I am active over on the FCBO site and we recently included a section dedicated to "Forward Look" cars that has been well received. A bunch of "Forward Look" cars owned by C body owners, (myself included), came out of the woodwork. It resulted in several new and active members and is a wealth of information to the C body folks who admire the "Forward Look" era.

There are so many forums out there... millions... about everything under the sun. This is a focused site and we really should keep it that way. Am I against posting about our other cars? Heck no. But I would like a specific section out there for non-FL. If necessary I will help by being a moderator. I can step up and do that. I am on this site every night I can be looking at what everyone is doing anyway. I don't think there is anything wrong with all of us sharing our other projects. I have a 66 Barracuda I could post about as well. But lets put it in a place that doesn't make us look like a "post about any car you have" site. I think another Sub-section called FL Members Other Rides / Projects is in order?
