I ordered a model of a 1961 plymouth fury 2drht to assemble myself. I plan to paint it identical to my big '61 fury. It has been shipped but I have not recieved it yet. When I do I will post photos during the assemble and after.

Is this a "Modelhaus" 1961 Plymouth kit that you orderd? If it is make sure you preop everything as it states tin the instructions. Otherwise, the paint will not stick........

You also have to be really, really careful with the windshields that come with modelhaus kits. They're thin acetate type material and it's very easy to ruin them ( past experience). The bodies are cast in resin, not plastic, they're much thicker than originals. I did a 60 Polara convertible a few years ago, not particularly pleased with my results - it was my first and only time working with a Modelhaus kit.

You gotta use a specialized glue, for clear plastics.

If you are asking about where to purchase the Canopy glue, I got mine at a hobby shop that deals in remote control airplanes.

What doner kit are you using for the chassis- I'd appreciate seeing pictures of your build-up before I try to tackle the same resin-cast model? Jo-han used to offer the same model in a complete kit but collectors have ruined chances of buying one at an affordable price. Highway Travelers also had excellent high end 1:43 modes of the 61 Fury and I got one when they were first released around 10-15 years ago. They quickly shut down after building a handful and now they'll occasionally show up on e-bay for around $250 - again out of reach. Good luck with your project.

First thing to is soak all the resin parts in a tub of Westley's Bleach White, then scrub it with hot soapy water and let it air dry, it will get rid of all the mold release residue, otherwise the paint job will be ruined.

Buy a new camera instead - no way to tell how your model turned out on those pictures

I used to web camera on my computer. When I try to upload photos by using a camera , it does not work out. I retake the photo upclose. I know I did not do a good job assembling the car . The paint job is awful to me. I know I tried and I will be getting another 1 in the future. I got to save my money for another 1.
