ToMopar, next time you are at the shop, can you throw that little blue car into a box and mail it to me? Too cute!

Your wagon is awesome!

Someone has an idea how to fix this little spring from drivers door latch lock, or where you can buy such a springs. Or has someone such a latch for sale.

Is the door latch the same on 57 Chrysler and Desoto? If so, I have a 57 Windsor parts car I could remove the latch from. Several years ago I missed buying a 58 shopper in rougher but restorable condition because I didn't move fast enough.

Doesn't happen very much this year, because time was eaten by my another projects.
By the way, I've prepare the exhaust system for a lambda sonde, by welding a little bit on the new waldron system.
I am fully recommend the waldron.

Tom, you do have the little bent metal cover for that opening at the bottom of the flywheel, don't you? If not, I probably have a picture somewhere here of what it should look like.

Nice work Tom. You have placed lambdas quite far from the engine. I've been told they should be placed as close to engine as bossible, or do you use preheated lambdas?
I also got Waldrons exhaust waitin in boxes for m 300 G and I am also plannig to put lambdas in both exhausts, dont know yet where.

What a difference on the vent wing chrome Tom - looks really nice - keep up the good work and soon you can drive to Classic Car Week!

It's difficult to see in your carb Pictures, but check that all the screws are properly swaged so that they don't vibrate loose.

- Yes Sven, I will keep my eyes open
- Rolland, this is because the original heat control choke are broken, and we (the carb guy and I) don't trust the reproduction parts whose are available,- so we changed to electric choke instead which is used on holley's, too.
Ok, it is not like factory, but at the end I like a working system.

Here is a picture for comparisation of Holley 4160 with electronic choke

I actually bought a used Carter filter and mounted it on a Chevy 58 - by this offence the bowl cracked almost instantly.

What I want to point out is that it's really safest to find a NOS one that never has been mounted - afterall, theres a lot of gasoline pumping out if the glass bowl cracks.

My choice is the "modern" (60>) steel filters even if the old bowl types are so much cooler

I have at least 2 of these glass bowl original filter assemblies (used) that I won't be using as I don't think they will flow enough fuel for a 440 engine. Are filters still available for them? I can make you a good deal if you are willing to try but shipping might be high. No guarantee it won't crack like Wizards did.

Nice. Do they come in different colors or are they all black, and you have to paint them? I purchased a black one for my '57 Chrysler, but am considering getting a colored one for my '58 Desoto.

Nathan, they paint the dash in the color you want for a little extra money.
I send them an little vinyl sample of my door panels and this company match the color exactly.
Standard color is black.

Beautiful car getting the workmanship it deserves there!

I have a padded dash from RDAutoline also, if you get black they recommend use of SEM vinyl paint/dye for matching to the car interior color.

For a car as nice as this one is coming out to be, you might want to go the extra length to put the correct color/wording onto the coil, Tom. If so, I have it printed on a black sheet. All you need to do is print it (it will use a ton of ink because of the black), then wrap the coil in it. Then I'd spray a coating of urethane or something over it to keep it looking nice. Crazy, and I know, and yours looks awesome as is, but if you want to go that extra mile...

Thanks Ed, for the "print" and for the help with the misterious spring of sun visors: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=15643&
