Are the rear/side window gaskets original or did you replace them? Where did you get them if they are new?

First time after a long period of darkness in the garage, I allow the hemi-muscles to pull the wagon out to get some rays of sun

Hi Tom, hope to see your awesome wagon sometime. I´m about to update my rear brakes.
How did you solve it. Is there any rear axle that fits right on or did you change anchorplates and shafts.

Hej Kent.
unfortunately I have changed my previous idea, and don't change the rear brake system and restore it to the condition it has leave the factory.

Danny and Ed,
thanks for the kind words.
But this car is far from finish, I would say that I have done three quarters
The Front bumper is a provisionary version, the matching front bumber is at "my" chrome guy since 2012....
And the most headache is caused by facing/covering of the rear compartment.
But as you all know, the smaller the job is, the more time is needed

Tom,
You have done a remarkable job on your wagon. I have been restoring my 58 New Yorker wagon for several years and it is also almost completed.
In your last post you mentioned that the most headache is the "facing/covering of the rear compartment". I too have not been able to find anyone willing to tackle the recovering of the "wheel hump" areas. Is this what you are referring to?
Here are pictures of what I need covered in vinyl. Also a couple of pictures of how the vinyl was formed around the latch and pivot areas. The old pictures are of my old parts wagon.
Is this area on your wagon covered with formed vinyl?
Bob

Did you use leather? How were the upper seat back latch and lower pivot point for the seat bottom finished.
It really does looks great.

Great looking wagon! I really like the bends in the rear exhaust. Are those bends the same as the original exhaust? Time to go cruising or camping!

Thank you all for the compliments,- it gives me a boost in motivation.
The next step is to pass the car inspection.

@ Steve, I don't really drive until now, because the wagon is not registered.

@ Nathan, no the bends are not original. The tubes from waldrons were not even, so I make them by myself.
Here is a picture I would worry about after camping.

I still have no car inspection,- but the little wagon is ready for the road.
And I claim that this is one of only two or three drivable 1957 Fireflite Wagon in the world today.

Beautiful car. Well done. Congrats.

Tom, your Desoto must be the most beautiful station wagon in existence. It is outstanding in every way, you've done an amazing job!

Thanks Danny

there are some outstanding vehicles here on the forum. Your Nyer will be one of them for sure. With station wagons that joy seems limited, so I just did my best.

By the way,- according to the 57 DeSoto Registry (thanks Ed), my Wagon is one of two Fireflite Wagon whose driveable, and one of eleven which are still in existence
