Location: The Mile High City | 1959 Plymouth Fury 4-Door Sedan. Wow! - $3000 (Rye, CO)Date: 2012-11-26, 10:55AM MST Reply to this post Reply to: gqz2w-3435751251@sale.craigslist.org[Errors when replying to ads?] It is with great sadness that my husband and I are parting with "Geraldine". We've moved to the country and alas, she is not a farm vehicle. She also needs some TLC from someone who has the time and money to devote to keeping a classic vehicle in good repair. "Geraldine" is a 1959 Plymouth Fury 4-door sedan (younger sister to the notorious "Christine"!) and comes in classic Fury red. The engine is a 318 V8 with 3-speed TorqueFlite push-button transmission. The transmission was recently overhauled, but has a small leak where the reverse lights connect because the original plug there is corroded and we couldn't find a replacement. There are new disc brakes in the front (no adjusting those old drum brakes on this car!), new exhaust system, new heater, new sound system, and the interior was re-done 2-3 years ago with new carpets, headliner, upholstery, door panels, etc. Now for the sad news. She needs an engine rebuild. One cylinder is dead and another is weak. We haven't the time or money right now to devote to a vehicle that can't haul firewood or pull a horse trailer. Our loss is your gain. This vehicle is real head-turner. She's one classy lady and she deserves to go to someone who can get her back out on the open road where she belongs. Elite Veteran Posts: 1107 Location: Arvada, Colorado (NW Denver Metro Area) | I have been trying to help sell this car locally here in Denver who like the looks of my car to some other die hard Mopar guys and the best one of them wants to offer them (don't now if they done the contacting via Craigs list yet...) is $2K because of the motor issue. Wish it was not needing an Engine re-build and we could get them the $3k it would be worth. Then it would be great deal! Anyone have a spare, local running 318 Poly we could drop in this beauty? even a running 361 would help out...

Location: The Mile High City | I was wondering when you might comment on this one, John. You '59 Plymouth owners are an exclusive group, so it might be all over the 59 Plymouth website. This looks like a pretty nice car. $2,000 seems a bit low for this one, I don't blame the owners for holding onto it at that price.

Regular Posts: 82 | Hello Can anyone explain me why this model of Fury has no trim on the trunk and moldings on rear fenders finish somehow strange, I had never seen Fury 59 with such trims on rear fenders, I'd be happy if someone explain this THank you

Location: The Mile High City | Hi, Bogdan: I know there is an explanation for that trim. I am no expert on '59 Plymouths (or anything else, for that matter), but I will try to find an answer. I think it may have something to do with the difference between the Sport Fury model and the Fury model - which were two very different animals!

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7385 Location: northern germany | belveders and savoys didn't have the trunk molding, but that car is a fury and the end piece is different. looks like it is a very well done custom piece.

Location: The Mile High City | would there be a difference between the back-end trim on the Fury sedans versus the Fury hardtops? I was about to buy in on the customization, but what an odd customization to do!!
