Lenses are getting difficult. Gary was getting some from Europe and they seem to have quit making them. He was out of the front parking/turn signals for a 61 G

Try to ask from KP USA bilar in Sweden. Kontakt = Contact Us (they might be slow to reply emails).

Someone on eBay has them, actually the parking for the 61 are the easiest to find, the tails or the backup are something else, good luck with those...

A couple of days ago, I received an order from Gary that I had placed in Feb...yay!

Last year, I got a set of rear light lenses from Gary for my '57 DeSoto. If memory serves, I think he said it was one of the last sets that he had for my car's make and model year. I'm not sure about the other F.L. models.

Price was great though! They look great too.

I received a very large box from Gary on Friday, Placed the order at the end of January, and it all appears to be good.

He's definitely a big asset to this hobby!

Received my order from Gary Goers today, 1 reproduction heel pad, and a radiator core support seal. The heel pad is heavy rubber, not plastic.
I placed the order on April 6th, received one month later, May 5th

May glue it on - I have yet to decide. Wizard says the originals were glued on. I'm sure I've seen them sewed on but maybe on replacement carpets. I've had them sewn on to several replacement carpets when the carpets were replaced in various cars.

I'd recommend sewing. If you glue, the corners will lift after a while.

Thought I would report back on my latest transaction with Gary Goers. Mailed a pretty extensive order to Gary at the begging of April that included about 30 different catalog items (and multiples of several of those items) for my '56 Plymouth build. Received a large refund in the mail from the estimated shipping on Monday and all of the parts arrived on Wednesday 6/3/15. And like the last time, Gary even included a couple of free nick-nacks that I forgot to order.

Sorry - here is one customer not so happy with Gary.

I wrote Gary an e-mail last april with a question about the moulding clips for my 58 Belvie.
I wait and wait for a reply, but none.
Then I read somewhere in this forum that they (Gary Goers) do not like to reply to emails, so ok I thought let's do as they say, and
I wrote them a fax, asking plus or minus the same questions.
I waited and I waited for a reply, but none,
Then again I read somewhere on this forum that with Gary you simply place the order and send the money, and he will surely ship the parts.
Ok, I thought, let's do as they say, and I send him by fax their order form plus a payment by Paypal of a hundred bucks (50 for the parts, 50 for the shipment) plus the percentage he asks for the paypal commission.
Then I wait and wait and wait for a reply, either by fax or by email, but none.
I was expecting him saying at least it's ok pal, we've got your bucks now the parts will follow in ten days or sorry the parts are not in stock wait for the next ten years. I mean , whatever it is.
Then again, after one month I sent them another fax asking hey is there any news?
No reply. Silence. It seemed like there was nobody at the other end of the line.
At this point I open a contestation with Paypal for not receiving the parts and guess what ? The next day the hundred bucks were refunded. So, there was somebody at the other end of the line, indeed.
Let me tell you mister Gary, you might be the God of FL parts, but this is a very unusual way to treat a customer (to say the least). A few words of reply might have saved your reputation, at least in this insignificant corner of the planet where I live.

I havnt dealt with him and if I can avoid doing so, I wont deal with him

Simple thing is, I dont like the way he does business.....

I know that if I treated my customers like that, before long, I would have no customers

It is a shame that a person that is so talented cant see how much better off he could be by simply
learning some better customer skills or employing someone that has them already.

I expect he would be kept very busy making all the stuff that he makes and that he wouldnt have everything that he makes
always available and would then have to make the part to satisfy an order, fine, but how hard would it be to confirm an order by return fax
(if you dont want to talk to people)

The thing is with people overseas, is things take a while to get here and its very hard to do anything about the people that rip you off
from here (I have had a few), so, to send an order and payment and hear nothing would be a red flag to me and I would do exactly the
same thing (cancel payment) and you only have so long to do it otherwise your money is lost forever

The guy is honest but it's a very poor way to run a biz, however when you're the only game in town you can do like you want. What is needed is a competitor, but don't hold your breath.

Makes me almost glad I sold my last FL car, one hates to be held hostage to these kind of business practices. I don't have these kind of problems with Fusick Oldsmobile products.

You guys with complaints - Gary is a one man operation and his health is poor. PLEASE download and READ this message from him.
http://chryslerclub.org/PDF%20files/GaryGoersPleaseRead.pdf

Honestly, I've been dealing with him for over 30 years and have never had a problem. I just wait patiently for the goods to arrive and they ALWAYS do.
I am sorry for being harsh but he is honest to the nth degree but he will not waste time on cry babies.

I fully agree he is an honest person.
Never had the shadow of doubt about that - otherwise I would never sent my money out.

The matter discussed here is some careless attitude - I wasn't receiving any reply since months and then once Paypal writes them they refund the money immediately ?
So they do read their e-mail box.....

So why didn't you just wait for the items if you fully agreed he was an honest person? I don't get it. Sorry for sounding harsh but you would have gotten your parts had you waited.
He doesn't, and has never, to my knowledge sent out confirmations on orders.

As far as some of the comments on Gary G ...as I read some of them it's not a criticism of his honesty, it's a criticism that his way of doing business leaves something to be desired and more particularly given his poor health, what will happen when he is no longer able to carry on? It will be a sad day for two reasons, one of course is it would be sad that his health no longer lets him do the things he enjoys, such as operating his business, the other is that if his succession planning is similar to how he runs the business, (BOTH of which are HIS business, not ours), the whole thing might just disappear when he can't do it anymore. It would be a real loss if his molds and methods just wind up in the dustbin of his estate.

I have a feeling that when the time comes it could possibly be taken over by JC Auto, as Gary's a good friend with Jeff, the owner of JC Auto, and Jeff has driven from Seattle to Kalispell, MT on occasion to help him out. However this is just a hunch on my part. Jeff knows the Forward Look era inside/out.

And, I do agree that things could have been streamlined more by Gary, but it is what it is at present, and as I said, he always delivers.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Gary is a gem and has single handedly done more for our hobby than anyone. I was lucky enough to work with him when I was in High School. That was 30 years ago... When he had his business in Bell Gardens, Ca. I knew him even before that... When he worked out of a shed in his back yard! He was an outstanding teacher and friend.

My last big order was a complete interior kit for my 1955 Chrysler C-300. We had a good enough friendship that I asked him to put a complete kit together and send it "whenever he had time to get it done." A couple of years later, a few big boxes showed up on my door step. Sadly, I had been laid off from my job and couldn't afford to pay for Gary's order... So I did the only thing I could do. I sold the car with the interior kit on eBay, and sent Gary a check for the order. It was heart breaking to me to have to sell the car and the beautiful work he did -- which I never got to enjoy.

I heard he was upset that I sold the car the second I got the kit... But I really had no choice. When I recovered from the layoff and started to work on my Polara wagon, I sent him an order for the parts I needed. The turnaround was quick and I am proud to have his parts on my car.

I wish him a healthy recovery and I hope he can enjoy his well-earned vacation.

Here's an update on Gary from Rich Barber of the Chrysler 300 club:

Speaking of GG, I spoke with him recently.  His mild heart attack has apparently left no damage and is being treated in various and sundry ways.  His main pain is his ankle which was shredded last year and needs replacement.

Alana is taking good care of Gary but he cannot stand long on the damaged ankle.

His ANKLE needs replacement?

I know about Kneemonia, but an ankle replantation is a new one, on me.

The reason that double-amputees lose their medical malpractice lawsuits is that most trial courts determine that they do not
have a leg to stand on....

Gary is very honest, and I always got my order. Yes, sometime I waited for several months but like most of the vendors on FL cars this is common, I know that getting your check being cashed without a confirmation or parts delivered for months can be frustrating…
But I noticed that overseas customers are not always lucky, maybe the reason is the overseas shipping demands special paperwork like customs forms invoices and such, the demand for these car parts is pretty much non-existent and this is the reason for people like Gary, SMS, and George Laurie to name some of them..

I have been a very harsh critic of Gary’s rubber parts, they are made in cold molds and some of them are just unusable, not even close to the original, but I have to be fair with him too and say that the brake and accelerator pedals are excellent, they are simply perfect I couldn’t find one detail on it, especially with mine with the "power brake" lettering on it that is virtually impossible to find NOS, and NOS rubber is not always something you can use.

I also have to said that I purchase some Chrome lettering from him and the quality is excellent too, but as we all know now he lost his molds and supplier on that part of his business and has gone to "while supply last" deal.

I would strongly recommend to the overseas buyers to contact a friend in the USA to do all the purchases and send them back to you, this will cause you to pay extra shipping but there is a better guarantee of getting your items......Also avoid very large and complicated orders, because those seems to take way to long.

I used this option only in the case if the seller was not able to ship overseas or charge too much extra for shipping, but I do all the purchases myself
and just let know the different shipping address to the seller. This has not been a case with Gary Goers. I have NEVER had any issues with him, always
got what I ordered, no in hurry. The last time I made an order was 2012. Then I used the shipping agent in FL to put goods in sea container, because the
order was large including also trunk panel sets for 2 cars and it was combined with large size body part from other seller.

I placed my order in August (knowing he was taking the summer off for health issues)and got my order the first part on Dec.Everything was excellent but was missing one item,a horn relay.About a week later I recieved a check for a refund on the horn relay and an additional $63.00 for freight refund. Most people would have kept the xtra freight money. He refunded it.Very honest man,as everyone has said, and the parts were exactly what I had hope for.

I see he lists "New Yorker" name plates for a '58. Does anyone know if he actually has these for sale? Also, does he still have the extra long windshield gaskets with molded corners? I hate sending money in only to get a refund 2 months later.

I recently sent him a letter asking for prices and availability on a bunch of stuff and included a SASE and got it back in about 10 days with the prices and a couple things weren't available anymore. I also asked for things that weren't on the list and some were available.

Probably the best way to go. Good luck.

I placed an order to Gary on November 23rd, 2015. Immediately I payed the amount via PayPal at the same day. I never got a parcel nor the money back.

I don't know if Gary ever fullfilled my order or if I never got a note from the local post office (please pick up your item) or if the postal service (local) tried to put it to another adress (not the first time by the way).

Now I don't know I should repeat my order (with the payment) or just wait.

Happy Motoring!

Dieter

I think "ZH" for a state probably isn't enough info? You didn't put Switzerland anywhere on the form so you were probably bumped.

I would send in the order again, this time stating your country. Try to email a pdf of it and fax I guess.

mikes2nd - 2016-03-07 12:35 PM I think "ZH" for a state probably isn't enough info? You didn't put Switzerland anywhere on the form so you were probably bumped. I would send in the order again, this time stating your country. Try to email a pdf of it and fax I guess.

Thanks a lot. I thought the address at PayPal is enough. According to your advice I modified the order and sent it again (plus a second payment with the note if he'll recognise the first order he could be free to refuse the payment).

Happy Motoring

This morning I was almost melting because of happyness. I got a mail from Gary. He explained me that the shipping costs of the glove box liner for my Beast I ordered January 2015 was ways higher than anounced. So he used the first payment to balance the dept and sent back the resting amount. I got it. What I really don't know is if the service faxzero works. The service (free) of faxzero always sent a confirmation that the fax has been sent successfully.

So I'm looking in a positive way into the future to receive the parts I ordered this March.

I wish superb healing to Gary Goers.

Happy Motoring!

Dieter

Hello, I wanted to share my positive Gary Goers experience. Several years ago I ordered door and trunk gaskets and it took about 2 months to receive. I was hesitant after reading the reports that service is slow but he is an honest man. In the box with my gaskets was a note with $5 bill letting me know that shipping was less than anticipated. That took me by surprise. Again when I was looking to place a second order for trunk panels and carpet I was hesitant due to the reports of his health. I sent the order with a check in early December and I received everything a few weeks ago. Again this time there was a check for the difference in shipping cost. The carpet, tire cover and truck side panels are excellent. As far as I am concerned you should not have any worries dealing with Gary but you will need understanding and patience.

Regards,

Bill

This morning I got a message from the Chrysler 300 Club International (Yahoo Group) about an information from Gary Goers. I wish him good luck and a fast and full recovery.

<<<<<<<<

From Rich Barber, Brentwood CA

Gary Goers has asked me to forward the message below to his many customers and other friends.  He shared that he is facing amputation of his left leg below the knee, amputation of part of his big right toe and a total replacement of his right hip joint.  As you can imagine, he is almost immobilized.  Gary is a very spiritual guy and, therefore, your prayers for successful medical treatment and healing are in order, will be heard and appreciated.

Gary thanks his customers and other friends for their loyal support and concern but requests all communications come to him only by Snail Mail to his address as shown below.:

Dear Friends:

Due to major health challenges, I’m regretfully letting you know I must immediately cut back and delay most of my business supplying interiors and restoration parts for Chrysler 300’s and other MoPar’s.

I'm still finishing up seats and have more leather ordered to start more batches of F, G and H seat covers in the spring. And, I still intend to make '55-'59 interiors as needed.  But I definitel y have to put off everything for a while once the amputation takes place. I will complete all orders on hand for small in-stock items received to date but I will have to return any orders received after January 1, 2017.

Right now, I really, really need to get the message across that I just can't take time to respond to e-mails. I have begged for decades that personal and business messages come only by snail mail.  PLEASE!!

Thank you for your past, present and future support.  I look forward to continuing to share our enthusi asm for our Beautiful Beasts and to serving your restoration needs.

Sincerely,

Gary Goers

I had a large order in May I got in December. I never bothered him cause I have dealt with him for years. My order came and enclosed was a check for 160.00 for an item he isn't making any more. That is so Gary Goers, probably one of the most honest men I know. Be patient, read above. He is having major health issues. If your order is in at some time he will fill it but from the sounds of things you may have a long wait. I am praying he has a successful surgery and can survive through this and have some quality of life. He has been such a great guy both in person and his business. If you are in a hurry you can write to him to refund your money which he will do.

Thank you but my parents ordered this trunk mat for my '61 as a gift for Christmas but I am in no hurry and I do not need it right away. I also plan to order my trunk card board kit from him also . I ordered my emergency brake handle from him for my car and I got it. I am thinking about ordering a spare 1.

From what I read above, he is only going to fill his current orders

He is NOT TAKING ANY ORDERS after JAN 1

He is having something cut off him, so this WILL slow him down a lot

YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT, if you cant wait, you can ask for a refund

I hope he comes though it ok. I got a bunch of stuff from him in the spring and supposed to get my seat covers but I can see now why he's delayed. Not like I need them right away and I didn't pay up front.

He's always done me right in the past.

You submitted by postal mail? Did he call you? Or just sent you shipping difference?
