I just found a business card on ebay I was going to buy but thought it was better for someone who owns a car from that actual dealer . Here is the listing on ebay . Hope the person who owns the car sees this , as it would be a nice addition to the car . http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290878140995?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT...

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | Just a question on that fender repair That is an odd shaped patch, but I was thinking that maybe the curved corners would even out the shrinkage as its welded? Is that why its like that, or am I way off the page?

Veteran Posts: 245 | the oval repair on charger fender is because if i used a square it will be a dent in 45 deegre angel out of ea corner because the weld chrink one line now insted of 4 lines if you going to put in the rear half of a cuarterpanel and it gors 4 inch over the weelhouse lipp fot example ane is half weelhouse long insted of cut straigt up and then 90 degree back to tailend of quarter you curve the cotner 2 or 3 inches in bouth derections to have a better chanse to avoid the shrinking dent so it will be one line insted of 2 Hope this help you Thanks JAN

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | This must be an optical allusion, but behind that 300 looks to be a spercharged engine with cross rams mated to the top of the blower Is it possible to get a picture of both (must be 2) engines please (mad blower fan and mad cross ram fan) I have thought about a combination of the 2 by fitting 1 blower at the end of each ram (say 2x4-71 blowers) This is all pipe dreams so far

Location: Parts Unknown | Chrys 68 - 2014-11-06 2:18 AM "Julia's" 59 is now sandblasted and ready for new healthy sheet metal. ======================================================== I have a couple questions: a. Where is all the beautiful new sheetmetal I see being grafted into these cars being sourced from ? Is this a Sweden thing, or are these trunk and floor pans available to us Americans ? b. Given the severity of Sweden's winters, what is the construction of these walls and roof I see in the shop ? I see the heavy contouring of the sheetmetal for strength, but how to they incorporate insulation in to the mix ? Is it double layered ? ... and if so, what kind of insulation and how is it applied ? How thick are the walls ? roof ?

Location: Parts Unknown | d500dodge59 - 2014-11-10 11:08 AM The sheetmetall is handcrafted in sweden some in my shop and other parts by some friends ... JAN ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, if I needed similar sheetmetal to rebuild the trunk in my DeSoto, how might I get it ??? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- d500dodge59 - 2014-11-10 11:08 AM The roof is insulated with 8 inches and the walls have 8 inches too. The steel in roof is profiled to handle the snow. JAN ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is the insulation an injected foam that hardens between the inner and outer metal surfaces, or something else ? I understand the extruded profiling for strength. We get LOTS of snow here in Spokane.

Location: Parts Unknown | d500dodge59 - 2014-11-10 1:22 PM About sheetmetal, shipping is the problem. The insulation are blocks in 2 layers to move the splits away from each other, so warm doesn't leak out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I guess I need to ask then, how are you making these very pretty trunk and floor pans ??? They sure look good to my eye. I am tired of forming and bending every little curve. -------------------------------------- I have worked a similar wall/roof product called K-Span. It was simply sprayed over with a hardening foam to about 12" thickness and left exposed to the elements. Somehow, this seems like asking for leak and/or corrosion problems as the foam deteriorates from UV or develops water absorption in other ways. I would think foaming the interior would be better from a weatherproofing standpoint, but would be ugly as a mud fence and make the wall surfaces difficult to use. A multi-layer system with foam blocks (or injected) between an inner and outer metal skin would be the best of all options. I am just not sure how one would make it work with such heavy contouring.

Elite Veteran Posts: 836 Location: Layton, Utah | Mangus, What do you do about the rust under the spot welded seams of the fins on the 59 dodge like around the gas cap. You can cover it over with epoxy primer but the rust is still there hiding and growing and will eventually come back in bubbles under the paint. Am I wrong ? I'm not the best body and paint guy, but it seems like the rust will come back if it's not 100% removed. I have been told if you can keep oxygen from getting to rust you can stop it from growing. Like covering it with Por-15, but the problem with that stuff is it's so slick and getting paint to stick to it. Could you give me some pointers on what primer, sealer, paint and clear you prefer and have had the best luck with. You do awesome work and take on some pretty massive jobs !!! I enjoy watching your stuff, it gets me excited about attacking my projects. Thanks, Cory. DeSoto lives !!!

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Sorry for late response, but here it is: Wizard: The tires on the 300F are Coker Classic 225 / 75-14. Ttotired: Detailed pics of the monster engines will come later. Hold on! Doc: Almost every piece of sheetmetal are made by Fridberg in his shop. 60crossram: You have to replace all the metal that can not be saved by sandblasting. Have a nice Saturday!
