Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | May I introduce our "Julia" She's since some time ordinary "handyman" in the workshop. "Julias" car is a total restoration project, see pictures, and we will show some of the work ahead. We like the 59 Dodges here in Malung!

Expert Posts: 1207 Location: Ponder, TX | Years ago, when I first became aware of all the old North American cars being shipped to the Scandinavian countries, I was upset that we were losing so many. After getting to know and understand what's happening to these cars, I'm thrilled that these beauties are avoiding the crushers and are winding up in the hands of real enthusiasts. Thanks to all the talented and dedicated fans of American classics in Sweden, Norway and Finland for saving cars that would never have survived here. I only wish I could get to meet you all and attend your shows to see in person the amazing restorations you've done. Thanks also to Forward Look fans from all the other European countries for helping keep our automotive good memories alive. Edited by GaryS 2014-05-14 4:42 PM

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | Okay, here we go. The 57 Dodge is now picked up by its new owner Olli Manninen, President of the Finnish Mopar car club. He will complete the renovation without shortcuts and with the greatest possible accuracy. You will find the Finnish club page here: http://www.moparkerho.net/3 "Julia" got a new very nice club t-shirt from Olli and was happy. Speaking of "Julia", she has already restored the chassis and it's almost time for the body. Much work is needed as can be seen. The 59 Convertible made its season premiere by winning a carshow last weekend, not surprisingly, with that look ... Work on the 300 G goes further and is now in the final stage. 300 F as this thread is about resting right now and Fridberg is now working with his new project, a New Yorker Conv! Can only tell you that this man has energy .... Edited by Chrys 68 2014-05-24 1:23 AM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8443 Location: Perth Australia | The work you guys is awesome, but I am curious about the 60 dodge wheel arch. I dont know this, and thats why I am asking, but is the matadore/polara rear end of the wheel arch different to the dart (phoenix ect) wheel arch? My phoenix wheel arch kind of has a pigtail twist at the back where the arch almost comes back in on itself. Very hard to re create, compound curves everywhere

Expert Posts: 1906 Location: Ontario, Canada | The G is fabulous but I have to comment on the car carrier trailer. Is it commercially available or was it custom built? Just curious! I've never seen one like that. The geometry is fascinating, it looks quite light but super strong. Great design----nice and efficient! Greg

Expert Posts: 1740 Location: Alaska | Chrys 68, I meant to ask you about the dodge pickup that was used to tow the Chrysler 300 away. It is labeled a diesel in a 1500 but that truck combination is not available here in the US, (until this year). Tell us about it.

Elite Veteran Posts: 673 Location: Malung, SWEDEN | The Ram is equipped with 3.0 EcoDiesel V6 ! Engine comes from the Chrysler / Fiat's own manufacturer, VM Motori, which makes diesel engines for almost all out of Chrysler's models in the EU such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Good towing vehicle!

Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | Jan there is a '61 Windsor sedan (silver with the cool red plaid interior) in a yard about 10 miles away from me, it has been there off the road for at least 40 years I think. When I looked at it a couple years ago it looked solid and fairly complete, but I did not look at the floors carefully... it is a NY car, and NY is not the driest place. I hope to get back there soon, as they are reported to be starting on scrapping that part of their (very large) yard, and I will check it out better. Roger Anderson

The car has been in southern Sweden for several years, at some point the car was fitted with pink paintwork. Perhaps the Swedes on this page can tell us more about this 57.
