Were fun with more information about the F. Someone must have seen or heard anything about it at some point over there with you guys.
Right now it is still in the paintshop as well as the G.
The Dodge longing for summer. The photos is from last weekend's show in Västerås.
Of course it started snowing on both the way there and on the way home....:)

F & G are still in the paintshop...
meanwhile, it is a little maintenance on this nice 59 Fireflite.

Still not summer over here, cold & windy!

That vert has a perfectly fitting top and windows.

Just like it/they came from the factory (-not usually!).

Thank you for driving your cars, in such immaculate condition.

Which company is the best to duplicate F's body tag?

Think it shows to much wear for sitting in a restored car.

F is finally back from the paintshop. Christer did a very nice paintwork.
Now it's just the rest left ....

This gorgeous New Yorker belongs to a friend and it will be showed to the public at the upcoming Power Big Meet,
http://bigmeet.com/
The car has a very interesting European history that I may tell you more about another time.

In the garage we entertain ourselves with some Desoto service.
Carlo Notaro came by one day and brought a new steering box.
Carlo has an incredible knowledge of old Mopars, and is a real asset.
Happy summer to all of you!

It's no wonder people bought a new car every 2 or 3 years. How could you resist these things!!!! They are like jewelry compared to most of the black on black dreck of today's "high end" cars.

It's been full speed with everything lately except in the workshop. 300G has at least come on wheels.
F rests and 57 Adventurer gets new trunkpan.
Hope we can find more information about F's past life in the U.S. soon.

ToMopar: Sorry we missed your visit in Malung, Hope we can meet next year.

This weekend there was a roadtrip with friends.  In the workshop, progress is being made, the engines of both F and G are finally in place.
We start with the trip, the first stop was at Forward Look cars and parts in Lidköping where there was interesting stuff going on.

Next stop was at Carlo Notaro who showed an interesting F in good working order.

This was what we saw in the workshops when we visited.
To be continued ......

Our roadtrip continues!

Yvonne drive us safely in 59 Imperial. Guess if we had a nice time.

Happy friends in the backseat of the Imperial enjoying life!

The Imperial parked in front of Sörens workshop!

Sören is a good friend and a big Mopar enthusiast. Here he welcome us to his place!

This is Sörens latest love, she came to Sweden from Tracy, Sacramento this spring.
The 57 Adventurer now receives much needed care.

Every car tells its story so even this 57 Adventurer.

This Adventurer is the Ex. Merle Wolfer/ Petty/ Compilango car.

This is one of Sörens 300 F. This one was found in Greenville north of Sacramento, CA.
Nice project!

Sörens 59 Dodge, bought from Russo and Steele. Nice ride!

Nearby Sören's another friend, Mange in Bredaryd collects and sells nostalgia.
He manufactures fine coaches of cars that are beyond repair. Popular among Swedish car enthusiasts!

You can reach Mange here: http://www.amdream.se/

The pictures speak for themselves!

Candy for every nostalgic garage!

Thanks to Sören and Mange that offered a nice party on the high Chaparral later in the evening.

The 57 Adventurer came from the Frank family in Wisconsin and is a nice project.
New trunkpan and the new floor is made in house.
The DeSoto will be a real nice car when it is finished. Owner Magnus Karlsson
is a true enthusiast with several interesting vehicles in his garage.
If someone here on the board have more information about this cars life
in U.S please tell us.

We also searching for more information about the F!

Hi, I am part of the family that sold this car to Magnus. When we bought the car, we were told that his car was purchased new by Elvis Presley for his pastor. I don't know if this is true, but if you send in a request for the information on the car from the Chrysler Historical Society, it should show where it was sold new. Obviously a Tennessee or surrounding area dealer would be a good indication the rumor is true.

Here are quite a few pictures from last weekend's adventure in Finland, where we visited "Jenkkiauto" car show in Lahti.
Promotor Mikael Forsman says the show is more than cars. Its an entertaining gathering of people who share the passion for American culture and vehicles.
After our visit, we can only agree, a successful event, well worth a visit!
I was quite frequent with the camera but trying to save you from things that are not Mopar!
Here we go.

The trip started of course in the pouring rain and the cars were thoroughly filthy before we came to Stockholm.

The rain stopped when we drove on the boat, Silja Symphony....

Silja Symphony belongs to one of the two major companies operating Finland and launched in 1990. It is powered by four impressive Wärtsilä Vasa 9R46 diesels.
Maintain a speed of 21.5 knots with 2852 passengers in impressive 986 cabins...You got the size!

Summer season is over, desolate and cold on the sundeck.

The Baltic Sea is calm luckily. It provides a tremendous sense of freedom to be out at sea.

Helsinki is a historically interesting city, (I can tell you about another time)
After a nice tour through the city we were headed for Lahti.

Trip second stop for fuel. Finnish petrol in the tank felt good.

After a full afternoon and evening cleaning of the cars were the results like this.
We went to sleep happy after a good dinner.

The Polara glitters in the light!

Exciting design!

From another time.

Wherever you look you see exciting design!

Beautiful or not. It is in the eyes of the beholder!

Original Dodge dealership material in place!!!

The New Yorker finished after many hours of cleaning...

The car maintains the highest class right through
Perhaps the world's best New Yorker?

The car is as I mentioned before sold new in France.

Here it is in place in Lahti, 55 years later. More elegant than ever.

Many visitors took the opportunity to photograph the car and show their appreciation.

We were well received in the Finnish Mopar Association that offered refreshments and good company all weekend. The club showed a very nice Hemi Cuda
and told us that interest for old Mopars is growing in Finland. http://www.moparkerho.net/

Other interesting FL cars at the show were custom icon Esa Salo's spectacular 70's creations....

Of course, in patinated condition as they were found.
The Desoto is best known by the rock group Hurriganes album covers.

This is far from patinated!

But still spectacular, what a interior!

The design feels heavy and majestic.

The Imperial exudes luxury and glamor!

A car for celebrities and noble.
Anyway, this Finnish sample was in very nice condition.

It was a long post, more to come....

The Finnish city of Lahtis is known for its culture around American vehicles but also for its expertise in
welding technology. Kemppi was present at the show and presented the latest in welding.

Kemppi products tested!

Welding and grinding for audiences.

Interesting construction, you are free to work out which engine it will be installed in the future ....

Inspired by Barris?

The construction was an exciting element in the carshow.

Barris inspired or not, the weekend offered two famous American custom builders, John D'Agostino and Jimmy Shine.

Here they go loose on a way too high roof.
The car is built by the known Hersti Autoshop, Finland.
http://www.herstiautoshop.com/tyon_alla.htm

This race car is to my taste but wait, what's that in the background?

An own construction perhaps, tough anyway, someone who knows more about it?

Perhaps inspired by this Fury?

One of the many pleasant Mopars we saw at the show. This one in drivers condition.

Interest in Mopar in Finland seems to be a little wider than in Sweden.
In Finland we have a wide range of models both new and old in all styles. In Sweden, the focus is on convertibles, muscle cars and fifties.
Here a nice street machine!

The wide interest in motorsport reflected in these wild Valiants!

Wildest of them all........

When we're on the motorsports I have to show this one. The only car that crashed as pacecar at Indianapolis.
This is one of the best, with lovely accessories.

These buses shows the width of the interest.
Makes me think of scooby doo!

The brothers of blues offered entertainment from the stage!

While we enjoyed this Challenger!

Nice ride!

Perhaps middle age is lower for automobile enthusiasts in Finland?

Do not know but I saw several younger who watched this Challenger.

But who could resist.....

Difficult to resist was also this Plymouth from Norway!

A popular feature was the hairdressers who made classic hairstyles for young and old.

It was also offered to get professional help with makeup.

Why?

Because when Blues Brothers were finished, it was the girls' turn to take care of the entertainment.

Need I mention that we had a great time....

:)
