The Plymouth production figures for 1957, 1958 and 1959 include Plymouth cars built in Canada and the U.S. plus Canadian Dodge (Crusader, Regent, Mayfair). Included in the U.S. Plymouth totals are the U.S.-built export Dodge Kingsway and DeSoto Diplomat. The Canadian Plymouth production includes the Canadian-built export DeSoto Diplomat while the Canadian Dodge includes export Kingsway models.

Thanks, Bill! I should have credited you as a source for most of this information. I put the information on the forums as a quick reference - when I do a google search for production figures, the ForwardLook site never comes up, which was a shame. Perhaps someone else will list production figures for other years.

I wouldn't go so far as to call the differences I noted as "corrections". There could be transcription issues, or simply different dates on the various reports the numbers are pulled from.

"Production" reports were done with cutoff dates. They weren't always prepared after production of a specific carline ended. If cars were built after a cutoff date, they just wouldn't show up in any report. Dates established for cutoff of the compilation of a report varied for numerous reasons, just as the end of production of a particular car line for a particular model year varied.

Except for the few instances I noted, my information agrees with what has been listed for each of the individual carline postings. Does that mean either set of numbers is 100% accurate, or one set is right and the other set is wrong? In a word, no. Every report Chrysler generates whether it is completely hand written or computer printed starts with a human being. And humans make mistakes. We've all seen some great examples.

Funny ...

Since 1997, I know of an original '58 Plymouth Belvedere 2-door hardtop with a 225cid L-6 in Belgium.
It was completely disassembled, and was for sale for a long time (but the guy wanted too much for it).

I saw with my own eyes the original papers of the car. It is indeed a LP1.
That makes the car a LP1-H.

And I can't find it in your listing, either in export built up or CKD/SKD.
