I am failing in finding a fuel pump for my 56 Royal with the Super Red Ram 315 poly. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Matt

I got a kit from Egge Machine in CA and rebuilt mine, although mine is a 57 325 hemi I suspect they are similar. They need number stamped into mounting flange of your old one to figure out what kit you need. Other alternative is to get adapter from Hot Heads that will allow you to run a later pump.

Here is link to part: http://hothemiheads.com/dodge/cam_shafts_timing/fuel_pump_adapter.h...

I would get the rebuild kit, as it will accommodate ethanolic gasoline.

Egge is a good Old School company.

I have a 315 engine in my 56 dodge. I am considering installing an electric fuel pum
p and blanking off the hole in the timing chain cover.

Electric fuel pumps have burned down many a car, over the years, by continuing to pump out fuel onto a manifold (usually)
area leakage.

Another option is a Hot Heads adaptor & an LA F/P.

Sweet, I will get a hold of Egge today. My pump looks great and works, but this weekend it was beginning to fail and cut out at highway speeds. The fuel lines are clean and clear, the tank is full, but the pump is the original and must not like being used regularly after sitting idle since the late 70s.

Thanks again,

Matt

For everyone else: the easiest way to check on your car's fuel pump health is merely to get it up to about 30-40,
and then to floor the loud pedal, and keep it there for a while---this can be a fun exercise.

A weak or failing pump will cause the engine to stumble or to surge, due to intermittent fuel supply.

No stumbling/faltering: yer gud 2 GO..."but, officer, I was just checking my car's fuel pump operation!"

Carter fuel pump from summit will work. Thats what i replaced mine with and i have the same motor. I did have to purchase a fuel regulator...all in all it was about $100 for everything and got it the next day.
