"Wait a sec, the plymouth power seat was literally 2 way i.e.: forward and backwards not up and down."

*********************************************

Is that a question or confirmation ?

Good point. Makes sense to me !I can confirm that the seat only travels fore/aft (2 way)Colin

A PS Plymouth is a rare critter. Not many built to reference. I was blown away to see Colin's
57 Belvedere was a PW car! I have only seen a fistful of top-of-the-line Fireflites with power
windows! A low price car is far less likely to have those kind of options installed.

Hey Doc, I agree with you 100%, but this Fury was ordered by a dealer for his wife, at least that's the story that has been passed along with the car from previous owner to owner.

Sorry.

By the look of some posts here, either some here ain't never bin 2 no gooder skool or are extremely
frugal in their use of punctuation .... didn't want to make any assumptions.

Just wanted to make sure it was a statement, as I really don't know much about well optioned Plymouth
details ... always room to learn more when it comes to a good subject.

By the way Ron, That big yellow wire running from starter solenoid in engine bay thru to LH upper kickpanel circuitbreaker is a "hot" lead. Unfused. I was going to fuse mine close to the battery.... FYI. From memory the power windows and power seat run off this juice wire. Colin

Hey Colin, I took the covers off of the front seat bottom today to replace the old powdered foam and I think I found what you were talking about on the seat frame. There are two small holes drilled towards the front of the seat frame bottom on the drivers side only. Are these where your power seat switch bracket is installed? I looked at Roland's pictures, and I can see them there too. Sorry for the bad pictures, they're from my phone. -Ron

Lookin good Ron. Your car had some very interesting options. It's nice seeing you put her back to 100%. Will she be done in time for Carlisle this year?

Wayne, "done" is a relative term I guess, but yes, she will be at Carlisle in July. I plan to return her back to 100% one day, including the original sand dune white paint and correct Fury interior as well as replacing the few 58 items with the correct 57 stuff. But for the time being, she wears the all too famous red and white paint and interior. We'll either be in the Forward Look Network area or with the genuine 56/57/58 Fury area. Please come by and introduce yourself if you have a minute.

Ron,

Yes that switch detail looks familiar.

FYI, there is room on each lower corner for a tapered coil spring to be attached to the seat frame under the upholstery.   Just to give it support.  I hog ringed mine in.   Sorry no pics....  was done 5 years ago...

Also added some bars across the front lower seat to spread the load.  Did this as I read the technical service bulletins of the day and they had helper (ex mopar) kits when the cars came back for warranty claims after the fabric let go because the frames allowed to much movement of the fabric.

Also plan to add 2 x relays for the power motor.  one for forward, one for reverse.  Otherwise 7 amps go through the soft solder control switch which shortens its life!  There is room under drivers kick panel for this mod...

Where on earth did you find them Ron? I have never seen any of those for sale, ever. I removed mine and had them gold plated in 24 carat gold. Was not as expensive as it sounds, around $30 about 10 years ago!
You are right though, nothing beats NOS!

Friday night was our first show of the season. Faulkner, a local dealership, holds this cruise night every 2nd Friday of the month. The Fury had a crowd around her all night, it was awesome! No surprise here, but we were the only Forward Look car there. I just finished the interior, had the hood and trunk repainted, and the entire car buffed out and polished the day before. She has never looked so good!

She's lookin' REALLY god, Ron. I know what ya mean on being the standout car. As many local shows I have been to recently, don't recall seeing many (if any) Forward Look cars turn out. I guess that I'll need to be changing that, though.

She looks pretty all buffed out for sure.

My car was in the 15th Annual Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. I had a chance to meet and talk with Virgil Exner Jr for a few minutes. He told me that in 1957, his mother owner the new '57 Fury and loved it! He also told me that she used to "really put her foot in it" and loved the way it drove. He was 24 years old at the time, and remembers driving his sisters around in the Fury. The show was great, and there were so many amazing Forward Look cars there too. Great day!

Ron, Do you know if the all-Mopar show in June is being held again this year in Hatboro?

Hey Bob, I have not heard anything about that show this year.
Are you doing Carlisle again this year?

Not sure yet........$50 entry fee + $50 gas + $20 food is outragous to go to a show for 1 day......They'd gross a lot more money if they would lower the prices.........i.e. increased attendance!!!!!

Bob, You're a cheap some beach! You might have to sell one of those sweet ass rides for gas...
LOL, JK Bob! I love you, you're still my favorite FL Muppet!

Glenn, You're in for free, but we'll have to put your girl in the trunk. Will she be ok with that? Maybe we'll put you in the trunk, and she can ride shotgun. Yeah, that sounds like a much better idea...

Bob.
I'm not sure what it costs to get a car in, just quoting the Carlisle website. I'm just a dumb kiwi-I wouldn't know.
Ron. Its 15,000 miles from NZ to Carlisle. I don't mind riding through the gate into Carlisle in the trunk of your Fury to save the $10 entry fee. But I will have to hide in the luggage hold of a 747 to get there to save the $1800 flight fee. Let's see if I can pull that off..... See you in PA!!
Glenn.

I hadn't seen "V-800" for years. In '57 Plymouth had an ad in car mags that went as follows. A driver of a 57 Chevy looking thru the windshield (showed the hood spears on the Chevy) at the right side rear end of a 57 Plymouth. Then the message something to the effect "It's no use fellow. That's a Fury V800" Great ad. Oh at that time in my life I was in the process of being transformed from a Cheby fan to a Chrysler products fan.
