Veteran Posts: 209 | I've got my wagon torn down to the point where most wear items will require replacement, this includes ALL of the rubber weatherstripping in the car. The short list includes: Windshield gasket Door weather strips Door glass runs/cat wiskers Windwing gaskets Rear sliding side glass slide surround channels & sliding felt lined base rubber Rear long side window gasket surrounds Tail gate gasket and glass run inner & outer ws So far I've found NOTHING available, I got lucky and got Goers on the phone, they no longer have windshield gaskets! There are some generic replacement pieces like door gaskets, but none of the unique molded parts that are required in some areas. My car is all appart and I really want to get it back together in hopes of driving it this summer, I've been ordering stuff like mad and moving right along, front suspension, brakes, engine parts, wiring, etc. etc. but this rubber WS issue has left me dead in my tracks! If anyone can offer any suggestions it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! (Flying Plymouth.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Flying Plymouth.jpg (204KB - 422 downloads)

Expert Posts: 3577 Location: Blythewood, SC | Welcome to the world of unsupported cars. There is no aftermarket like you are used to with the 60's and 70's cars. BUT, it's better now than it has ever been. You can get all of your weatherstripping from Clester's Auto. Google them, they are CHEEEEEEP and great quality and fitment. I was very happy with their stuff on my car. Good luck with a windshield gasket. They are scarce as hen's teeth. Whatever you do, stay far far away from Andy Bernbaum. There are many horror stories of his stuff being not as advertised, or not fitting. And welcome to FL! I'm used to seeing you on Moparts, I'm sure you will fit in here just fine.

Veteran Posts: 209 | Thanks Brian, I called Clesters, they have ZERO on my list, also tried Metro, Steele, and Restoration Specialties (they had a few generic pieces but nothing substantial) and Autobody Specialties. Any other ideas? BTW, I like this board allot, not as active as some other forums but a good bunch of helpful people here. I'm a total newbie when it comes to 50's era cars so this has been a gigantic (and frustrating) learning curve. It needs all the rubber replaced, most of it is so dried out and hard that it came off in little inch long rock hard chunks. If I can't get a freaking widshield gasket this project is going nowhere, pretty pathetic that a part that adressed 3 or more model years of a popular car hasn't been reproduced, I guess it's find a used gasket time? Expert Posts: 1488 Location: Florida | For a good used windshield gasket, try Murray Park - http://www.cbodies.com/ - mbpark@bright.net . I bought a used one from him for my '58 coupe - pricey at $150, but excellent shape.

Veteran Posts: 209 | Thanks John, I just e-mailed him. If I get desperate I can steal the gasket and a few other items from my 58 Suburban 2 door wagon (assuming they are the same?) but it's a savable and mostly complete "roller" project car with little rust. I've got the entire front clip, replaced the missing side glass, etc. I hate to sacrifice it it just for the rubber.
