Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 11182 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Lower Mainland BC | . Bought an Carter AFB rebuild carb kit for my AFB to WCFB manifold project. Well actually 2 kits (357B): One from Rock Auto that seems to have gotten lost. Came out of California and started to head north to me in Canada but ended up (for now) somewhere in Illiinois (makes no sense to me). And at least a week later than they initially promised. So for "fun" I ordered a second identical kit from PartsAvatar.ca that I assumed meant shipping from Canada (and faster delivery) I just checked out my orders for the same Carter AFB carb kit. Rock Auto with shipping to my door (and all taxes, duties, etc) was $CND 65.03 Partsavatar.ca for the exact same kit was $CDN 65.69 to my door. I assumed from Canada (but I was recently told that it was just a shell game and it was really from the US) I thought that Partsavatar.ca would be faster BUT no. Same delivery time. So no real difference. Live and learn. Too soon old, too late smart

Elite Veteran Posts: 1122 ![]() ![]() Location: PL / EU | I prefer original cars, in fact, I'm a fan of original interiors. My other cars are like that, but this one is different. When I bought car, interior had already been redone and didn't look nice (the paintwork also wasn't original). I wanted to restore the original design and cut, that's important to me. I repainted car daffodil yellow. The faktory daffodil yellow body, had a silver-gray interior. Nowdays all new cars have gray interiors, and I don't like it. The colors were my own idea, and the materials were locally available, as was the upholsterer. This interior color combo was not available on the '59 Plymouth. But, this is not a high-end resto, I did the painting myself in my garage. So, I thought this combo outside / inside would look good. After all, I'm the one who has to like it, right? Veteran Posts: 112 ![]() | Wrapped fuel line from pump to carb to mitigate vapor lock. Made new door weatherstripping at the a columns. Gave her an alignment. Repaired front driver's electric window switch. Plugged some holes in the firewall with body sealer. A good day. Taking her downtown to be seen.
