It's a Ghia limousine, but, this snippet is titled "Foley Project" , a foley-artist is a sound engineer who, inside a studio, creates 'fake' noises, like the telephone, and those push-button sounds and the rattling bottles, and the train noises, etc, which appear in this film clip.

The poster of this clip very cleverly omitted the 'noise' of the actors, so you only hear the background/incidental, and artificially created sounds, which create the drama in these scenes.

I saw "The Gazebo" at a drive-in movie theatre 45 years ago. I remember the plot but I don't remember the cars that may have been in it. I have never seen it on TV since. It was a mildly amusing comedy about an advertising executive who thinks he's killed a blackmailer and buries the body in the foundation of a gazebo he's building in his back yard.

"Monster On The Campus" (1958) is a horror picture like so many others of that era. It does however have a few FL cars in it. The story concerns a mild-mannered anthropology professor at a small university who is transformed into a slobbering cave man by being bitten on the hand by a coelocanth fish. His girlfriend drives a 1958 DeSoto Fireflite and his gal Friday drives a 1958 Plymouth convertible. Even the cops drive a 1958 Plymouth Plaza.

Not movies but TV shows, "Leave it to Beaver" used Plymouth's after the first season(Ford's in 1957). In the opening credits there is a car driving by (58 Chrysler?). Another show "Batchelor Father" uses an Imperial conv.

Yeah, I remember - near the beginning.

Solid black '59 Belvedere 2 door hardtop. Sitting outside of "Napoleon's" bar, where Garrison and one of his assistants were catching live coverage of the shooting.

If you don't blink, you'll see my 57 Plymouth in "Waiting for the Light". I took my 55 Imperial to be used in the movie"Dogfight", but they used my 57 Ford truck instead. Geez, that's been a long time ago.

And for those my age and older, the old "Tammy" movies featured quite a few of the mid fifties FL cars.

James Bond Meets The Forward Look, Most Recent Edition: This is a chase scene from the 1974 Bond film, The Man With The Golden Gun. Our favorite spy is chasing the bad guy again, but he's not driving the '56 Plymouth in this picture. Intsead, Agent 007 is passing the Plymouth in that red AMC Hornet. The Plymouth is merely a background vehicle in this shot, and is supposed to be a taxi. It's also supposed to be a Plaza, but there's no trim or series name scripts on the car. U.S. cars mingle with vintage Asian cars in this shot, not suprising as this is Bangkok in '74. And although the Plymouth's driver is supposed to crash in the storyline, the producers substituted a '55 Shivvery in the actual crash sequence, thereby saving the FL Plymouth from any harm (breathe a sigh of relief here). This is the last encounter to date between James Bond and the Look, Forward Look. Most likely, the producers saw to that.

The officer approaching the '59 Coronet in this picture may have his back to you, but my, he sure looks familiar. Surprise, it's actually actor-turned-politician and future U. S. president Ronald Reagan in the very last role of his acting career before going into politics full-time, in the 1964 film The Killers. It's the only one of The Gipper's movies in which he played a bad guy (and reportedly hated it), and the Coronet is the only FL car that we see up close in the film. Reagan doesn't have any problems impersonating a cop in this scene, looks like he did it quite decently. Although FL vehicles are sparse in this film, seeing a future U. S. president play a criminal seems to make it fun to watch. Read my lips, no more stereotypes!

That website didn't show the 57 CRL convertible which was prominently featured in "The Gypsy Moths", or the eye-blink yellow/white 57 sedan which passes by outside the diner where Tim Roth firsts meets up with his undercover supervisor, in "Resevoir Dogs"

The yellow/black CRL convertible featured in Quantum Leap was sold out of a TX used car dealership, so, it still
exists.

The "She Monster" car shows a good(?) example of the careless dash panel painting, that MT complained about, in its 1/57 CRL D500 review...my car has a bit of that, too, where/when the glove box door was installed and slightly mis-aligned so that a lower corner of it scraped across the still fresh lower paintwork on the dash, and, the masking taping was a bit ragged, too.

Finally, one way-earlier photo-posting question is answered, identifying a race segment featuring a 57 Coro 2-dr HT (apparently-) about to pass a 57 Roadmonster: it is from the 2002 Cuban documentary: "Yank Tanks" .

Just for Adriana, here are some shots of 1961 Plymouths in an episode of the situation comedy "Leave It To Beaver". It looks like Mayfield (the town where the show was set) had an aggressive Chrysler-Plymouth dealer as all of the cars appear to be either Chryslers or Plymouths. There are a few Dodges too and one Imperial.

That show is on a local staion everyday at 1230. Still a good show. The Cleavers always had a Plymouth except for the first year (57 Ford). At least from the shows I've seen.

There was a vehicle in the animated movie Cars called Flo. It was said to be modeled after Jay Leno's 60 Adventurer. Jay was one of the creative consultants for this Flick.

Couple of additions/corrections to "It's a MMMM World". . .

Berle's Imperial was white. (at least on my TVs!) Also some of the B&W and unmarked police cars were 62 Dodges and some were 62 Plymouths. Jerry Lewis (in a cameo appearance) swerves his 62 Chrysler convertible to run over Spencer Tracy's hat.

And don't forget the 2 59 Plymouth taxis in the climactic chase scenes along the PCH.

What vintage Asian cars?,I only see a red AMC, a yellow Ford Zodiac Mk 2,The Plymouth and a red Triumph 1300 and at the far left it looks like the rear fender of a 1966 Pontiac.

hemidenis - 2010-10-26 9:17 PM at least we know that the car survived the explosion.

I am sure it was used in Mod Squad first and then destroyed in GP.

As mentioned, check http://www.imcdb.org/ for tons of FLs.

The master touch (1972) car chase

Huh! The more you beat up a 1958 Plymouth, the more it starts to look like a 1960 Dodge! Whaddya know...

The red/white '61 Desoto that I am restoring had a small roll in the movie 'Mississippi Burning'. I have never seen it but a friend recently saw it again and was on the lookout for the car. The car is in the movie twice.

Wow, I remember that one scene from when I saw the movie in high school about 7 years ago. Here's some photos.

Hey folks!! A really excellent film with a ton of FL cars is the 1958, "Girls on the Loose". I own a copy of it, I found it online, kind of expense but well worth it!! It's a classic 50's movie with woman attacking eachother with knifes, and chasing eachother in FL cars.

I saw that when it first came out. That's one of the few things I remember about the film !

this looks like it may be from a movie

Gomer Pyle.....not a good ending in that episode.

I see what you mean Matt,it was also used in a 1968 episode of Mod Squad

I haven't seen this in years, but I mistakenly remembered the car as being a '59. I did notice, however, that the car, being driven appears to have "straight out" tail pipes. The underside shown when the car caught fire seemed to have the stock curve at the end of a visible tail pipe. But I am probably ,mistaken about that, too.

The tv movie In Cold Blood had a black and white 57 or was it a 58 Plymouth convertible.

Another movie I like called Shadow of the Hawk that was filmed in Canada had a 58 Plodge.
