Actually, Jim, you, yourself told me about your car's history, a long-ish time ago, in a PM on this here website. Remember?

You confirmed that it wasn't a D500, and I believe that you may have said that you changed its colors ( I may have
to contact Mr. Faltus on that matter), too, but I can not specifically recall what it was painted, originally, but its color(s)/trim
are recorded on its P/T plate.

You telling me about your car is hearsay? Nope; that's direct communication.

It's the Bishop whose brain-dead! I had my '59 convert on ebay some time ago and had a 100% honest description of the car in listing, right down to its origins. I put notification of the listing on this site so EVERYONE here kinows the whole story. Allen Faltus (a super honest guy) bought the car and put a lot more work into it, making it nearly perfect. He then decded to sell the car and placed it on ebay, perhaps choosing some words that got the purists attention. That's when you and your attack dogs went after him and the car--an absolute lynch mob mentality! I wrote in to defend Allen and that is where I told you a few things about the car. But believe me, I would never tell you anything in detail about any of the 300 or so cars that I have owned because you would distort, exploit, and use it to your own advantage to promote your "FL guru" image. Bishop, you are nothing more than a pompous grandstander and keyboard bully with an opinion on everything. Bye Bye, now.

Ah... wasn't this thread about Miss Belvedere??

For those who have unfairly cast aspersions on the Ultra-One product without ever having tried it, the stuff works just as advertised, I'm using it on my '70 Nova. It has limitations because of the necessity to keep things immersed for a period of time, but don't knock it til you've tried it, I've never tried anything that works as well. And to ascribe evil motives to Dwight Foster without knowing either him, or the owners of the car, and their intentions is equally unfair, if that matters at all to the bloviating pontificators.

OK, I'm back, (thanks Fearless!) and I'll stir this %$#@n' pot!

NATHAN's a big PU$$EY! nenner, neener!

Nathan, you can't find your own azz with both hands! How are you able to find Hobby hiding under any rocks?!

Nathan, you little twerp! You pick on Hobby and his flyin' go-rillers any more, and he's gonna come down there and, have you smiling, flyin' monkey, out of your butt!

It's trick 'er treat. Hobby is gonna jam a ghost up your hiney, and each time, you will fart "BOOO"

I'd like to see you and Hobby get into a verbal volleyball war! By the time Hobby is done with you Nate, you will be babbleing/slobbering like one of those re-tards.

Aw, I'd better quit while I'm ahead. Fearless's is lible to take my newly high speed away from me, or, Nathan will banish me forever, down in the sewer. (sigh)

HAVE SEX!!!! WITH NATHAN??!! GOOD LORD! I WOULDN'T &^%$ NATHAN, WITH 'YOUR' I) ick!!!!!!!!!!!!

One, he so ugly, he has to sneak up on the glass to get a drink of water!
Two, he won't kiss first, just wants to get it in,,,,,,,,bang around a few seconds. No passion!
Besides. Nathan has about as much sex appeal, as a 1/2 full, 5 yard, dumpster behind an Italian eatery!!
Anyway.
Since Hobby filled up Nathan's 'chocolate' hi-way, with that ghost. There isn't room for anything more!

WAIT,,,,, A MINUTE!!!!!!!
Fearless, what in the world are you talkin' about ***** and sex, up here in the 'better than you' section for?
I though all this perversion was 'sposed to be down there in the sexual fetish section?

Clive. YOU dared me to delete something in that moronic "ban the user above you" how many page thread! Well, not, like a 'double dare' but, a dare, never the less.
Yep! I got more power in my little finger than,,,,,,,. Well. I was gonna pick on Nathan, but,,,, someone might think I'm in love with the little fart!

EWWWWUEEE! The thought of this post, having sex with Nathan, is gonna give me nightmares tonight.

Geez...

After reading the mindless drivel above, I'm convinced there are FAR worse things than Hobby. Meanwhile, I still think the guy is sick and twisted... regardless whether he and the CanMan are (apparently) the best of hot-tub buddies.

By the way, I'm flattered by your obsessions, Rick... But you're simply just not my type. I'm afraid I'm only interested in the ladies... you know, like the one's posted in the "Something To Make Your Day Brighter" thread down there in your Netherworld. (Yes, I read the posts down there, too... I just don't participate.) So you and Hobby enjoy that Brokeback Mountain sheep-herding trip together... Just the two of ya.

I'm gonna go exorcise that so-called ass-ghost you cast upon me. (And to think, I just thought I'd eaten some bad chili!)

What the hell is going on up here??? This perverted stuff is 'sposed to be down in the basement............where we know where to find it.

Rick, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. You mighta been better off PAYIN' a thousand dollars for the camera so this wouldn't 'a got out.

You next big fear should be what Erik decides to do with a picture like this. You may end up on every transvestite site on the web; not just the sites about gay ski days and such. Better come up with some really manly pictures of yourself (bikers leathers should be avoided here) while you can still poison the thinking of onlookers.

Yikes!!!! This IS getting scary - back to Ms Belvie anyone??? I'd like to hear from folks who have TRIED Ultra-One.

Anyhow... for inquiring minds, Bingo is Binghamton NY, once the cigar capitol of the US (1800s) - Endicott (a suburb) is where IBM originally started, and was the home of Endicott-Johnson, once the worlds biggest shoemaker - almost every town across America had an E-J store once. Now the area, like much of the Northeast US, is losing manufacturing jobs, it's kinda down at the heels compared to the 60s, but it's a nice place to live: pretty, quiet and safe. Big local claim to fame: a famous Mob Boss conference bust happened here (Apalachin) back in 1957.

Hank, I'm not sayin' the man has to dance, i'm just sayin' that what he may think of as "manly" may have been co-opted by the gay ski crowd, so be careful what you pick. Riding a Hog is manly, OK, but not in butt-less leather chaps with say, ..... a Speedo underneath. That would not qualify.

I think Rick needs to put up some pictures of himself maybe involved in a 3-way with two very definitely female partners, you know, just to show where his persuasions may lay. Or in full African Safari get up, rifle shouldered, taking a bead on a Charging bull elephant! Something that says he's not what it appears he is in the photos above.

,,,,,,,? I'm confused.
You say that a sign in my medicine cabinet, warning, do not take my sex change pills,,,,,,, makes me a queeer?

How does me, shouting to John, telling him, M'Lisa sadi to smile for the camera, (EXTREMELY windy, and cold up there, hard to hear) also make me a queeer?

How can I be a queeer for wanting a sex change and become a Lesbian?

Nathan. "Mindless Drivel"? You call me, warning you, of Hobby's intentions, mindless drivel?
OK. If that is the way you feel, I won't give you any prior warning, if Hobby and his flyin' monkeys, decide to pay you a visit, in the middle of the night.
I got a feeling they will short sheet yer bed, and give you a 'blanket party.'

Sex between you, or Hobby?! (Fearless started it|) You have the sex appeal of a dumpster. Hobby has the sex appeal as a bag of leaves.
That is a tough one. I can't make up my mind.

Further off topic, but since Ultra One is located in New Jersey, why not get an authentic "Jersey Boy" to be their spokesperson?

I just found this post and believe it or not....I read it all the way through...Wow!! You guys really get into it here huh? I've heard about this over and over elsewhere on the net and I had to see it for myself. It's true...And it's all about what some guy in NJ is doing to a rusted out Plymouth that some brainy characters decided to bury in 1957? And you guys are arguing about it like a bunch of immature school kids? I'm sure that hard feelings came of this argument and friendships were strained...That's the WORST part about this whole fiasco. Who cares what Dwight/owners do with it....They're going to do it anyways...and it will just be "cleaned up junk" when they're done. The relationships here should be more important than arguing about what they're doing to Miss Belvedere...come on...Miss Belvedere? Who came up with that name anyways? Sounds like one of Barney's friends. Let's forget about this rotted out junkyard car and discuss topics that will build our friendships...strengthen our bonds....so we can help each other fix and repair our RESTORABLE FL autos.

Bob

Well, I think that most(?) of us agree that, when Ultra-None is done with the remains of Ms Belvie, it WILL be
nothing more than "cleaned up junk", as opposed to its being a(n unmolested) remarkable, compelling historical artifact.

BTW, the "Miss Belvedere" appelation was created by the City fathers-and-mothers of Tulsa.

I was in favor of naming it "Virgil" (way back before it was 'revealed' to be a Titanic-looking artifact ),
and I had thought that it WOULD come out of the ground appearing in like-new condition.

I used to fellowship at a church where the Pastor liked to say that if you point a finger at your fellow man, you will have three of your other fingers pointing back at you.

He also addressed the issue of people verbally attacking each other by prefacing their criticism with, "The Holy Spirit has moved upon me to tell you........"

Makes me wonder if these other people on the web are any better than us if they're discussing our flame wars.

The police officers I work with tell me domestic calls are among the worst to respond to because often, the entire family unites and turns on the responding officers. I think anybody can see where I'm going with that.

The late Reverend Phillip Ramirez, one of the most humble and sincere God seeking men I was ever blessed to know, used to say, "If you're really concerned about the course and actions of your fellow man, get out of his face and get on your knees to pray for him."

The real and true shame, of this sad saga, is that Dwight, or anyone else with any automotive repair experience,
should have immediately recognized that the car, as-unearthed, was beyond OEM restoration-condition.

Almost anything can be "re-created", but, 'restored' as in : cleaned-up and polished/detailed, with MINOR (if any) parts
replacement on this brand-new 1957 car, to restore it to its as-new condition? Clearly impossible to do.

Dwight took on the car's clean-up as a way to promote his business, and in the process destroyed virtually any historical
artifact value that the car did actually have.

It now appears that 57 Heaven's lack of interest in acquiring the car may have been related to its declining attendance income,
which to date is such that its owner is trying to sell the collection/museum (albeit in a lump-sum manner, which may prevent
its being sold, for $17 million).

Probably, the entire collection may have to be individually auctioned off.

THAT'S an event that I would travel to see occur.

Neil, you are dead right about Dwight and the very sad end to 50 years of creation.
As for 57 heaven pulling the pin, it is a pitty they didn't get Miss B when they had the chance because she would be up fo grabs now.
I too would travel to see 57 Heaven's entire collection auctioned off, perhaps I should take the cover with me and try my luck with it under the hammer.?

There would be a second pilgrimage for sure.At least she would still be as she was when she came out of the ground. I would like nothing more than to be able to reunite Miss B with her cover.
But since Dwight has done what he has done, there is no way on this earth that I will ever let that A**hole get his cleaning mits on.

Neil, I'm interested in your thoughts as to what to do with Miss B's cover? you seem to be some great authority on the wellbeing of Miss B. Do you have any ideas on how to preserve this large piece of tin foil that is still in the same condition as when I saved it. and no,I haven't cleaned it.

This should be a separate thread.

What to do with the Shroud of Touring? (or: Tulsa, or Belvedere)

Unfortunately, as the car 'goes', so-goes its wrapper.

The Shroud would have been a very neat display adjunct, as part of a Diorama display, that I had envisioned as being a highlight to the 57 Heaven museum's collection.

Maybe it could be sent to Ultra-None, for restoration, too.

It's kind of like having Abbott without Costello, ELVIS without Costello, or Stan without Getz, Huntley without Brinkley.

The Shroud should be preserved in some museum context, but where, and how (now); I dunno.....

As far as that diorama-display is (WAS!) concerned, I had thought about recreating the Vault, on three sides [OK: two-sides works as well, but you have to feel like you're down-there with the car!] with the Ms.
Belvie displayed inside it, and with 'atmosphere' lighting hidden around it, playing off of its patinas.

There should be a video playing, showing detail views of its engine, interior, and undercarriage, as well as highlights of its internment and its public-unearthing/revealment proceedings.

It is remarkable that we seem to think along the same lines. It would be very cool to re-create the vault 2 or 3 sided, so that you would feel like you were really down there with the car in its tomb. right down to the water marks in the correct places on the walls, a rusty 57 or 58 2dr ht would be fine to use as the cover would completely conceal its identity and would look just like Miss B looked when she was lying in wait to be unearthed.
Sounds great, but where would it be best done? I tried to interest 57 heaven in the idea a year ago but they didn't seem to give a rats ass. Any ideas ?

See if the city of Tulsa has any regrets about tossing it into the trash--maybe they would like to have it back----or sell it to ultra none to cover up their embarrasment. ...................................MO

I think that T-Town, rightfully, is somewhat ashamed at the car's condition; it's not exactly a ringing-endorsement
for what the City did-do, in preserving the car.

They thought that they were protecting the car, but, from my scutiny of the vault, it looks like virtually no ceiling-
sealing was effected or applied; I am convinced that virtually all of the water which entered the vault did so by
way of ceiling leakages. Of course, that issue, and what the car would have looked like if IT had been fully enclosed
in a welded-up enclosure (like their precious Time Capsule was)....are moot points, now.

Pete, if some other stand-in for Ms. Belvie were to be used in some sort of neat diorama display, the whole effect would be
like that of a carnival display (like: the woman-with-no-body) instead of as a true museum display of real unrestored
artifacts; except that the Shoud WOULD be displayed in probably the best way, possible.

I just don't think that the Shroud has much value, without the Original-condition car, to accompany it.

Ah, it's about the car again. Was too hard to read all the strange rest...

My idea for that car is, to bury it again, so not the whole world sees that some 50 years ago in america some people were too stupid to build a waterproof case to preserve a car and some junk. I wonder if they could do it today. When I see some of the "repairs" performed on some cars we bought, I can hardly believe someone has ever flown to the moon...

Here's the Miss Fury from Switzerland:

Found it on a old junkyard last year. Those idiots there were to stupid to put is a few meters way back in the hall, where they'd park other cars like 4 doors and other crap and leave the original Fury out.
Very sad. I talked to her, but she didn't answer. She gave up.

Why can't I link in pictures like this here?

it works on every other forum. It would be so easy.

I have many more photos of that junkyard and the Fury.
If someone is interested here, I will make a new thread on it.
Cheers.

Here's the Miss Fury from Switzerland:

this must be the fury they DROVE into the yard. from what i heard it was nice but lost forward gears (probably broken front clutch, easy fix) and the junkyard owner drove it backwards for miles into his yard! can't believe they left it outside

From all the over 300+ cars in this yard. Every country every make, crazy! This looked like the most rotten of them all. The rockers were gone. It was very sad. It was actually the car I took the most photos of, and the only car I did sit in. It was so sunken in the ground. I did "rescue" one of the Fury scripts from the rotten doorpanels inside. The rest I think is not for sale. Like the rest of the yard.

I will try to post more picutes tomorrow. I have to sleep now, its nearly 4 in the morning, and I'm looking at car pictures.... Anyone familar with this?!

We've been seeing these pictures for over 4 years. Good luck to anyone "overseas" that can scoop the Fury up. It was probably crushed 4 years ago.

I do not think so, as I took these pictures by myself last year, and nothing has happened since. The yard might become an open air museum or all cars will be crushed. They are arguing with the f.... swiss government not to crush the cars, and to keep the hundreds of cars as a historical place.
A new investor from Dubai is working with them now. Let's hope it stays.
