You find and buy the car

I can assist with setting up shipping the car to me. I use a Bonded shipping broker that can give you a good price.

All parts are and material are at your expense


On a complete restoration prices start at $15,000 depending on the condition of the car but I can do one that is pretty ruff for that price.

I also do "small jobs" Example; Lets say you just want your car's body gotten ready for paint. Ship it to me. You will get back a car that only needs light surface prep andthe paint laid down.

At Overhome Speed and Custom Shop you will get top notch craftsmanship that is hard to find today. We specialize in doing the jobs “other” shops turn down. We provide quality at an affordable price.
Some of the services offered are
Complete Restoration
Fabrication
Panel repair/ single panel paint when possible
Complete Paint jobs
Color sanding/polishing
Buff polishing
Rust Repair
Electrical
Stereo instillation
Custom speaker enclosures
Pre-fab interior instillation (sewn interior is sub-contracted out)
Pre-fab custom and factory exhaust
Pre-fab tube chassis construction and instillation.
Suspension work
Brake restoration and disk brake kits installed.

And when the need arises to do something else we do it. We build everything from Stock restorations to ‘Ol Skool Kustoms, Traditional Hot Rods, Rat Rodz, Street/Strip cars all out Drag cars.
Because of my full time job as a Paramedic I don’t charge by the hour. I charge by the job. Some things I don’t do are jobs on daily drivers. I just don’t have time and there are plenty of shops around for that kind of work.

Here is a copy of the contract (which can be modified for the situation) for a Christine Clone.



Restoration Contract.


This agreement made this day of___________________by and between Mr. D. Taylor of 2560 Cool Branch Road, Thorn Hill Tennessee 37881 United States of America,

herein referred to as "contractor" and Mr._______________________________________________________________________________________________ herein referred to as "customer" is witnessed and binding.





Contractor and customer in consideration of the mutual covenants hereinafter set forth agree as follows:



Contractor shall furnish all labor necessary to construct a reproduction of the Car featured in the Feature Movie Christine, from parts provided by customer, this Car will be a quality reproduction using the contractors exiting car as a standard of workmanship.


Customer shall pay contractor a total sum of Fifteen thousand U.S.Dollars ($15 000) in agreed installments of $________ with an initial payment of $5000.

Any optional extras or requested work required will be funded by customer.





In the event any installment is not paid when due, contractor may stop work until payment is made.

In the event any installment is not paid within a reasonable time period, contractor may take such action as may be necessary, including legal proceedings, to enforce his rights here under.




Customer shall not have possession of the structure until such time as all payments or other obligations required to them as set forth in this agreement have been fully paid.
















Contractor agrees to promptly complete the restoration in a reasonable time period not exceeding two years from the date agreed above.

Should contractor be unable to finish the restoration the contractor or contractor’s estate will hand over the car and all parts in whatever state it is in at that time.

No more payments will be required from customer in such an eventuality.

Contractor or contractor’s estate will freely assist customer in any transportation required in such an eventuality, this does not include financial assistance.



In witness whereof, the parties have executed this agreement the day and year first written above.

If I were to send you a wagon tailgate which needs some new metal patched in, would you tackle that?

Rusty tail gates can be a problem here in the dry Southwest. Sand and dirt collects in the bottom inside of the tailgate and retains moisture from washing and rain, causing it to rust from the inside out.

I have a couple of extra tailgates here and all but one have seem bubbling through. The one not rusted through is , of course, creased, though maybe the lower portion of the outer skin could be grafted to a rusted one.

I bought some 22ga for the wifes Hearse the otherday and it was $63 for some small stuff. But as far as the reapir goes I am sure I can do it. If you are not in a big hurry for it it would directly effect the labor price.

I have always been a very driven person. When I set my mind on something I don't stop until it is what I set out for. My mind is made up that in a few years I will be a well known builder.

I also wanted to add that I just signed a contract with my local body supply to use only top quality Dupont/Nason, 3M, and Evercoat products. What this does is lower my costs wich in turn helps me keep the cost for the customer low.

Location: dunbar , wv		hey donnie i really like your work and always liked your car . if you are using dupont paint ALWAYS use chroma base !! its a better line of paint finishes better and takes alot of work out of it!! ive used everything , dupont , ppg, marton senior, sickens , r&m , house of color . out of all of these i personally feel that dupont chroma base is by far the best paint ive ever sprayed . i like feather fill for body work talk about some high build surfacer that wont bust !! keep up the good work !!!!

Finally, after years of sitting neglected in various "other" shops... my '59 Dodge was rescued this morning and is currently enroute to the Overhome Speed & Custom bunker.

Looking at her I should have her running enough to move around in a few days and I will keep you posted. Expect a thread to pop up in the General section called "A 59 Dodge reborn...Nathans car" In this thread we will follow along in the build of her to whatever extent you wish me to take her to.


Tat. I to have used the chromabase and LOVE it. I don't like the cost that much but if the customer wants it and they are paying for material then HELL YEA!





I also inform everyone that yet another addition has been added to what I can do for your car. I just got in the spraying equipment to put on factory type (but better quality) undercoating and spray in bedliners.

Location: dunbar , wv		donnie i agree with you about the price on that chroma base , its really costly , i have saved money before using nason base and chroma clear but anymore i feel the extra cost is worth it because its so darn good and show cars take so much time and work to build . dont use nason sealer it is not catalized and the base is acidic and will cause the sealer to bust . i dont really like air dry primers or sealers as i have found they dont work nearly as well. i have found that while it may be cheaper to purchass cheaper paint and materials in the start , in 10 years when the nason is lifting or pealing the chroma will still hold tight! if you can get to know your paint guy next time you go to spray some of that transparant red base coat have him reduce the binder in the base when he is mixing it and add more pigment . it will save you alot of time !!!!

In the coming weeks I will be building a 12' tall x 12' wide body lift to ease body off builds.
If all goes well this summer I sould have a new 5 bay shop and office.

The color sanding process. I am only just now getting to the first of 4 stages of polish so it's normal to still be able to see where the imperfectons were sanded out. These first few pictures are of a small sction of trunk I took though 3 steps of polish to show how it works.

Here is one sprayed a couple of amonths ago for my Niece. Her dad d the body work. I just laid down the paint, color sanded, and polished.

I designed the trunk lining and speaker enclosure but her dad put it together.

I don't have all the high tech equipment yet but in tun I don't have a lot of overhead. I feel the Harris wouldn't mind me saying that I am doing his (the above 4D savoy) $3500 Paint and body material included. I am doing some mechanical stuff to it which is also a "charge by the job" deal. There is just no point in overcharging people for this.
In my opinion as time goes on, lower prices will only mean more customers. The more customers the more materials I buy the more I save which keeps the overhead down. As I grow and expand I am doing it with low overhead in mind on each step so I can stay low priced.

Some people have asked me some of my prices so here is a general idea for about any forwarlook car. These are close estimates.

Basic overall paint job where the body/glass stays together runs around $4000
Frame on, body/glass apart around $8000
Frame off cosmetic with little mechanical restoration around $15,000
Frame off total restoration (stock) around $20,000
Custom work depend on what you want done.

It was "work the metal back to where it started, 'cause labor's cheaper and quicker than waiting for new parts"( in Taney County, Missouri). 'Course cars had more metal to 'em then, too. I can see why N. Manning is trusting his wheels to your tender lovin' care. Good on you,guy!

Thanks man that means a lot to hear. I learned from my uncle and grandfather who pretty much raised me out in there little country shop where they did "whatever" anything to building old school ( "OL Skool" ) hot rods to painting farmer browns truck or restoring one stock, or just doing a brake job on grand ma's grocery getter.
I don't have all the high tech stuff that most shops do but I do ok without 'em. Those prices I gave before are real loose because I try to work in the customers budget and I even work on payments because for me it's about the cars and what they mean to our history be it bone stock or a hot rod they all have there place.
It's comments like yours that remind me why I want to do this and I thank you for it.

I'll take in any car if you are willing to wait. By the car being here it will be quicker to start getting stuff done to it.
With the new shop I will be able to do more than one at a time.
So yes send 'em on.

As to that puller I guess I have been lucky because I havenever had a problem with it. Some are tuff to come off but I have always been ableto get'em.
