And, ain't nobody (who was around, here, back then) can say that they weren't invited to this show-of-shows,
a whole bunch of years before 2007!

I wasn't able to get out there in 07, was in Tulsa for a couple of years attending school, used to cruise downtown from Broken Arrow in my 59 Imperial and walk over to look at the site wondering what she looked like? Makes me sick and want to cry! For the record,I didn't attend school in Tulsa to learn how to build a vault LOL.

For about 5-10 years before this turd came out the ground, I called it (as many were still hoping against hope it was runnable) as I have basements and they ALL leaked long after the 50's.

I knew it would be a rusty turd even before it was dug up. No need to drive all the way out to Tulsa to see one. I had one in my backyard at the time, called CHRISTINE.

That may be true, Chaney, but you missed out on a chance to travel to the biggest gathering of FL cars, owners and fans from across the world. I doubt there willl ever be a gathering as such again. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, even with today's high fuel prices.

Amen to that John.! What an awesome event and awesome people! Only a fool would have expected it to be "runnable"...Once in a lifetime.

And why wouldn't the F. Lookers all meet again? Even at today's high fuel prices??
Carlisle happens every year. Been going and stopping by Fearless's tent for the past 10 years (Going total for over 17 years)...

Wonder why F. lookers only get a chance to meet like this over some rusty hulk, when they could chat/meet/and hang out with fellow F. lookers with cars in various stages of restoration?

If there's ANY reason to have a huge gathering, that IMO, is WAYYY more appealing...

I wanted to go to Tulsarama very badly. But being only 17 at the time I couldn't convince my folks to let me go. I was ready to drive my '57 with all her flathead 6 glory all the way there! I missed out on something that will never happen again. Still kinda bums me out.

Even though the car didn't turn out so nicely...who cares? It was still amazing to see and experience im sure. There will never be another event like it.

Those who went to Tulsarama 07 should compare to Mopars at Carlisle. I have never been to Carlisle. I know there were a bunch of FL Mopars in Tulsarama fo sho!! Good time for all. No one was extremely upset about Ms. Belvedere except the mayor and Neil.

Exactly right Austin. The car was ruined, but I had a great time.

Has it been nearly 8 years since the Tulsarama 2007 show then? Time flies.

I went to Tulsa the year before the vault was opened. My friend and I got down there in February 2006, and I checked out the location where the car was buried. There wasn't much to see at that time except a small plaque. I believe I took a picture of it though, although where it might be now is beyond me. The following year (2007) I came for the entire week to savour the hoopla surrounding the unearthing of the car. It was sad to see what the groundwater had turned the car into. I have a few pictures of the car as it sat forlorn and rusty in the convention center auditorium.

I guess if any of us has thought about ever going to Carlisle, this year would be the time to do it. Also as close to a Tulsarama reunion that there will ever be.. Hummmm, man I would like to go. I better get Betty Lou freshened up just in case. Maybe I could just call her a rat rod. ...........................MO
