It's the same as the standard rear window on '60 Fury 2-dr H/T. I don't disagree that there was a big rear window option. I just thought that the rendering was a bit bigger and "bubbly" than reality. Expert Posts: 1287 | Lads -- Personally, I like the billboard because it looks almost like my current '65 Sport Fury (Medium Red Metallic, matching interior, 426-S, 4-speed) that is the virtual twin (less vinyl top) to the '65 Sport Fury that replaced the '60 SonoRamic Commando Fury I had from 1960 to November 21, 1964. Neat pic as usual, Dave. Joe Godec

Expert Posts: 1287 | Sid -- Interestingly enough, the '60 383 SonoRamic, even though officially rated with 330 HP, actually developed around 350 (more or less), so it's performance really paralleled that of the 365 horse 426 in the slightly heavier '65. However, the 426-S package in the '65 included the "Trailer Towing Package" (or police package) which gave it a better suspension and thus it was the better handling car with a larger gas tank (greater cruising range). Plus, with the 4-speed, it was a real blast on winding roads although that up- and down-shifting was tiresome in congestion, though that was counterbalanced when a nice honey blond was sitting on the console right behind the gear shift lever (I used to shift quite a bit then). But I liked both cars so much I now have acquired "second editions" of each -- who says you can't go home again? Joe

Expert Posts: 1287 | Lads -- The bridge in pic 41 (from the top) of Spinout's series is the Royal Gorge Bridge over the Arkansas River just outside Canon City, Colorado. It's about 1000 feet across and some 950 feet above the river below. One of my cousins flew a B-25 under it during WWII. He said he did it so he would be sent to an active theater; if so, it worked. Joe Godec Joe, Thanks for your contribution, very interesting to know the location (and some weird history!) I love this thread and look at it every day and - it's been said before but - I think it's a real shame posters won't post locations of the photos. I don't know where they are finding this stuff but the sources must note where it was taken. Yes computer problem guy above has an excuse but it has been typical of this thread all along. This has become a sizable enough archive that it could have been historically significant beyond just cute old pictures of cars. A certain anonymous poster should be chiming in about the Doric Motel anytime now...

Location: Bjorneborg, Finland | Only now I know it's the Royal Gorge Bridge. Thanks for letting know! There was a time when I followed on few Facebook groups and saved old pics to my PC's hard disk featuring FL cars. The locations were usually mentioned and often year too. I wrote that to the file names and then uploaded pics to this forum using its attachment system. This info was visible here, if it was available. However, I tired watching those FB groups, as they are just too active for me. If I spent a day elsewhere, it flooded dozens and dozens unread messages and took too much time to follow them. FB drove me nuts.. Now I just follow one thread in the local car forum, but unfortunately they rarely write location info on pictures. I just copy image locations from other servers and then paste these links here using HTML codes. Edited by spinout 2017-10-07 1:53 PM

You can see the Plymouth/Dodge roofline as well as the front end of the 1957 Chrysler. The grille on the clay mock up has the 300 shape but the 1960 cross. As for the back end . . . . Chrysler Engineering built a full-size, running, steel and glass prototype. The front looked almost identical to the 1957 300-C.
