Expert 5K+ Posts: 9899 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Doctor DeSoto - 2016-12-27 10:27 PM Any idea where that photo was taken ? Based on the plate (Arizona), the terrain in the background and the notation about "Crystal Palace", my guess is Tombstone Arizona, circa 1958/59. Edited by 56D500boy 2016-12-28 1:27 AM

Based on the shape and location of the building tops and the mountains in the background, I think these two photos are of the same place, Tombstone Arizona

Expert Posts: 3887 Location: Northen Virginia | I checked the google images in tombstone but I cant find the exact same mountain backgrounds. As stated before by Jim the Crystal palace saloon sign may be another clue that this place is in fact Tombstone Arizona...

Elite Veteran Posts: 769 Location: Oley, PA | Yes, it is E. Allen Street in Tombstone, AZ. Google street view wont give you the exact same viewpoint because the street is now blocked from vehicle traffic. The pic below shows a slightly better view. The building on the left is clearly identifiable. It is interesting that the street was once paved and fairly commercialized. I guess they "unpaved" it at some point to make it more of a tourist attraction. I like the 1959 version better. Expert 5K+ Posts: 7393 Location: northern germany | you can see the same mountain range with the 2 humps in the background and the large pink/beige building to the left in the new picture is the theatre showing the 1959 movie "devil's desciple" in the old picture.

Expert Posts: 2519 Location: central Illinois | We were in Tombstone AZ, April 2015. It's nice the way they've blocked off the main drag, much safer for gawking around checking out the shops, bars and tourist attractions. Wish we could've spent more than an afternoon there. One of the cowboy actors noted how the town got together and decided to give it a more authentic "cowboy" feel. The only downside is the dust flies when the wind kicks up. I'll go back and spend the night next time, hopefully in a room near one of the bars with the piano playing and girls dancing.

Actually, it's a Pacer, one of 1876 built. Notice the top is coral, which was offered on the junior Edsels along with turquoise, black and white. The color on it looks to be white with Sunset Coral scallop, color code E R.
