I've known the owner, Ron Stitt, of Texas Acres for several years and I've seen the Plymouth you refer to. Its been picked over nine ways to sunday and not a great deal left. He does have some loose FL parts at his shop, and some in his private stash but still not a great deal. He deals mostly with the cars from the musclecar era and cuts up cars pretty quick. He is great guy to talk with but don't expect much from his inventory.
Most of the really choice yards I know of are in private hands and mostly won't deal with strangers.
There is a wrecking yard called Little Valley Auto Ranch in Belton, Texas thats worth a visit. The owner is a real nice person who doesn't mind visitors going through the yard. Not much as far as FL cars are concerned though, maybe less than five cars, but several hundred other makes and models. You could spend 3-4 hours there and see just about everything. The website is: http://www.gotexasexports.com
In Ft. Worth there is a yard called Little John's Auto Wrecking. There were a dozen or so cars there last summer and the owner lets people walk through the yard. Be careful though, all the cars are stacked one on top of the other. Most of the cars he had were wagons but were in pretty good shape. I picked up a couple of extra fenders for my 58 Fury for only $125. You could spend 1-2 hours there and see everything. No website that I'm aware of.
Another place is CTC Auto Ranch in Sanger, Texas. They have maybe a couple dozen FL cars and some are picked over pretty good. The yard however is huge. They have several hundred 50's and 60's cars of all makes and many are for sale. They will let you go into the yard but if you find something you want to buy they won't let you remove the parts yourself. You could spend an entire day going through the yard. The website is http://www.ctcautoranch.com.
I'm sure there are more yards in Texas but these are the only ones I know of within an hour or so driving distance from me that allow visitors in their yards. Hope this helps.

I've listed a few Texas Yards in this topic area, Sid. All of them are known repositories for old cars.

Not sure if they are still operating, but Southside Salvage in Wellington, TX had a generous amount of Forward Look cars in their inventory, and their prices were beyond reasonable.
Wellington is located due east of Dallas/Ft. Worth.
Their telephone # is [806] 447-2391

Here are some photos from some yards near San Antonio. The first four cars are from Nick's Auto Salvage and the remainder are from Southside Salvage. Nothing spectacular, but there might be some useful parts here.

I was thinking about you Ed. The VIN of the '57 Firedome sedan is 55367777.

Hi, saw you on the HAMB and am not familiar with your name and operation.
I have a great interest in Chrysler products from the Exner-design fin era from 1955-61 or so.
Could you please generally comment on whether you have some Plymouths, Dodges, DeSotos, Chryslers and Imperials from that time period?  Any Chrysler 300 Letter Cars?
Thanks,

Hank,

This guy once quoted me $300 for a basic manual transmission for a '58-'61 Chevrolet. That was in 1994. I doubt his prices have improved as his inventory ages.

Hmm... That's odd, KennyJ.

I got BOTH fenders for my '59 Dodge from this guy.
Cost me $425 about 7 years ago... And that price INCLUDED shipping.

There are good deals to be found at Texas Acres... but it gets harder to find good inventory there every day.

John's Salvage in Seguin has a few. Pretty rough, but a few nice parts still out there. Like the grill on this 58 Sara. The headlight bezel is in the car.

At the 2016 DFW Swap Meet in Grand Prairie, TX, I found a vendor who had several boxes of old FL parts. I picked through them and bought a remote control side view mirror and the Push Button A/C control with 2 speed fan switch for a 1959 Dodge for under $100! He doesn't have a website, but he said he had several FL cars through late 60's Mopars in his yard. He's an older gentleman whom does not keep regular business hours, so don't give up if he doesn't answer right away.
