Location: Lugoff | I have a 1956 Dodge that I am rewiring. I came to me with no wires so its a start from scratch project. I currently have the Dash out and I am wiring behind the dash. I have a wiring diagram that shows a Panel Light Switch. It is separate from the light switch. I don't see a place on the dash for a panel light switch and don't have one on the dash that I removed from the car. My questions are.
Does anyone out there have a 55 or 56 Dodge with a panel light switch and if so where is the panel light switch located? Also if you have one is it an (on and off type) switch or is it capable of dimming the panel lights.
Thanks in advance

Location: Buena Park, CA | It is an on/off and dimmer (variable resister). It is in a weird location next to the park brake lever and it is mounted so it points down to your feet (rather than sticking out at your like every other knob on the car).

Thanks for the photo. I saw the hole in the bottom of the dash but wasn't sure a switch would go there. Your dash looks great.
Thanks for the prompt help.

Location: Buena Park, CA | No problem . . . and regretfully it isn't my dash, i wasn't around my car and that was the best pick I could find for you. That dash is from a 56 Dodge La Femme that I believe belongs to a member here. There is a thread on the build somewhere. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. The 55-56 Dodges and Plymouths don't get quite as much action/love as the 57-61 stuff does here, but there are a few of us that have a decent amount of information. |
