Extreme Veteran Posts: 502 Location: London, England | Hi all, I ordered a repro Jiffy Jet washer bag, but it didn't come with the cap/tube etc. Any idea where I can get a cap? I can connect it to the electrical pump that I have, which I can hide somewhere.... Also, where does it mount? I've seen pics of them on the passenger side inner fender, but what does it actually hook or bolt to?

Go to: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?userwatch~dynamicSearchPage... Enter a search for part description: "windshield washer valve" On the results page you will find: the windshield washer valves the windshield washer bag caps the windshield washer bag filters Jim K Detroit

Expert Posts: 2321 Location: Eastern Iowa | Just took one from a '60 Windsor. It was mounted on the driver side fender liner about 1/4 of the way down. You got the correct bag for an electric pump set up? I think they suck out of the bottom of the bag as on the 63-64 Chryslers. Don't the top draw bags work on vacum from a foot pump? Dave S.

Elite Veteran Posts: 782 Location: Edmonton, Alberta | Wow....Studebaker parts in my Plymouth...LOL! So, the question is, and I'm going off what I saw from a car in the scrapyard, it looks like the washer valve is mounted on the firewall of the car. So... I'd order the cap from Studebaker Guy for models without valve on cap? Does that sound right? That washer valve... identical to the one I took out of a scrapped Plymouth!!

Extreme Veteran Posts: 594 Location: Melbourne, Australia | The one way valve is identical to early 60's Fords too...... Dennis Carpenter repops them ! There is also a foot operated switch / lever that initiates the wipers and washers. Also has a rubber diaphram that is similar / same as 60's Fords. These last two items are inside the cabin. Don't know if all cars had these or not......???

Extreme Veteran Posts: 594 Location: Melbourne, Australia | Have also seen that foremost washer bag bracket mounted on its side. It then puts tension on the bag and sits a bit differently. I mounted mine like that. Had no reference so don't know what is correct !!! (57 Plym)

Extreme Veteran Posts: 502 Location: London, England | The Studebaker bracket looks quite different to the pics I've seen of the Plymouth ones. John is sending me a used pair, and a used cap, so I should be good to go using my existing aftermarket electric pump.

Elite Veteran Posts: 1060 Location: Auckland, New Zealand. | Here are some photos that will help you. From Wayne Graefen's lead, I ordered the cap and valve from the Studebaker website and was very happy with their delivery of accurately reproduced parts, as original. The foot pumps come up regularly on Ebay too. Glenn. 57 Fury. Extreme Veteran Posts: 502 Location: London, England | Bumping this up from the depths... 14 years later, I've moved to the US and brought my 57 with me. I finally have the car kind of sort of running ok and mostly back together. And I have most of the Jiffy Jet parts, including the pedal/pump. But... where does it mount? If anyone has a pic of the pedal pump in the car, with some idea of the location, I'd be very grateful! Also where does the check valve mount? It should be the one on the firewall, not in the cap.
