Looks like sometime in the fall of 1955 or spring of 1956 based on the 56 Dodge and 56 Plymouth. "The Bonwit Teller's flagship uptown building at Fifth Avenue and 56th Street, originally known as Stewart & Company, was a women's clothing store in the "new luxury retailing district",[2] designed by Whitney Warren and Charles Wetmore,[3] and opened on October 16, 1929 with Eleanor Roosevelt in attendance. It was described by The New York Times as a 12-story emporium of "severe, almost unornamented limestone climbing to a ziggurat of setbacks"—as an "antithesis" of the nearby "conventional 1928 Bergdorf Goodman." Expert Posts: 2480 Location: Dalveen, Queensland, Australia | Luxury car? Well done! Looking at the other cars in the first pic, Morris Oxford Series 2, Riley (probably 1½ litre), Dodge, Fargo or De Soto pickup. And in the 'cars flashing by' there's a Hillman Minx and a Peugeot 403. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9883 Location: So. Cal | This white & black 4dr sedan has me stumped a little. The front bumper area and rear tail lights tell me it's a big body '58 Chrysler. But what I can see of the rear side trim tells me that it's either a Windsor or '57 Saratoga. So I'm not sure what it is. Nice to see the '56 Fury, '57 Fireflite coupe & the Chryslers back then! Expert 5K+ Posts: 9883 Location: So. Cal | It's a '57 Windsor. The size of the trim in the front had me confused for a bit, but that's clearly what it is. The red car is probably a '57 Plymouth. And the all white car in front of it is probably a '57 Saratoga. | ||
