I received the build card for my 1955 Plymouth Savoy. Very cool service Chrysler still provides. They also tell you the name of the dealership that sold the car.

I'd like to post my card but it came in a PDF format and I can't figure out how to make it small enough to post. I can't get the PDF to open in Paint so I can convert it to a jpeg. Does anyone know how to do this? I have some questions about my build card. I can't see some of the information and I can't tell some other things so that's why I'd like to post it.

Open it as a pdf but then take a screen capture picture of it (most keyboards have a "print screen" button). Then you'll have a .jpeg file.

Agree with that except the saving as a .jpeg. This forum does not automatically post .jpegs but it will do so with .jpgs that are uploaded.

I regularly run my "Print Screen" stuff through Irfanview via Edit, Paste and then Image where I resize the print screen and/or otherwise improve the image. Save as .jpg and upload.

Post the result in the VIN tag portion of the forum.

This worked great. I've never known this trick and should have so I'm happy to learn something new. Thanks a lot!!!!

And the new image is quite a bit more clear than the original PDF. I can read several things on the card I couldn't before. My car was built on December 20, 1954 and shipped on December 21, 1954. They didn't hold on to them too long did they?

I'll post in the VIN Tag location like you suggested Dave.

.
Sam: It will better that you figure it out yourself so good luck with that.

I just found a pdf of my car's LA IBM card. I followed the following steps to convert it to a 1024 x 768 jpg:

1. I got the pdf on the laptop screen.
2. I hit the "SHIFT, PRT SC" keys (held the shift key down and pressed the PRT SC (= print screen) key. This puts an image of the screen on the computer "clip board"
3. I opened the version of IRFANVIEW (freeware that I downloaded sometime ago)
4. In IRFANVIEW, I click on the "Edit" label at the top of the IRFANVIEW screen.
5. Then I clicked on "Paste" in the pull down Edit list. This puts the screen image on the IRFANVIEW editing screen.
6. Then I dragged an editing box around the portion of image that I wanted to keep.
7. Then I went back to the Edit label and clicked on it and then "Crop Selection". This trims away the stuff that I don't want and just leaves what I do want.
8. Then I clicked on the IRFANVIEW "Image" label and then "Resize/Resample"
9. In Resize/Resample, I clicked on 1024 x 768 and then OK. This resizes the image to a decent size for posting in the forum (1280 x 720 also works but it is a bit wide for some people with coal-fired screens).
10. Finally I saved it with a name that I can remember in a search, in a location that makes sense to me.
11. Then I uploaded the image to the forum.

Hope that helps.

Thanks again Dave. I think I got it finally and followed just what you said except that I used Micorsoft Paint as the interim step. It took a minute to figure it out but it worked good.
