Extreme Veteran Posts: 443 Location: Beaumont TX | Here's the information on my car. It all is pretty much just like you said based on your review of my card. It's a Savoy 2 door sedan with two tone paint. The body color is Tampa Turquoise and the roof is a dark green color. This was original color scheme and also how it was repainted in 1975 or so. I redid the interior and it is pretty close to original colors but not exactly. I used a fuller fabric for the seats. The original upholstery colors were the turquoise fabric scheme like you show above. I have some of the original fabric that I saved when I reupholstered the car. I'm glad to have this color information you provided by the way. It came with a plastic type floor liner and I was going to reuse it so I very carefully took it out of the car and set it in the corner of the garage. A few months later, my wife decided to move it and folded it in half to do so and that is why the car has carpet now. The original floor was pretty brittle but it was near perfect until it was folded in half. I took pictures of the trim package you showed and believe it is all there. You can see it in the pictures. I took a picture of the rear quarter panel medallion and it looks amazing because I got a NOS medallion in 2010 on Ebay for 25 bucks and just bought it for the heck of it. I have the other one and it is not nearly as pretty and the other side is not very pretty either. I'm just saying this because the outside of the car is not in real good shape but that medallion in the picture looks pretty good and the car isn't that good unfortunately. It has the heater, defroster, cigarette lighter that still works, and radio that does not work. It is a V8 with a 3 speed manual transmission and no power brakes or steering. My great aunt died and gave the car to my dad. He drove it for 4 years and then parked the car in the garage in 1977 and pulled the spark plugs with the intention of oiling the pistons. It's very humid where I live so the car degraded a lot while sitting there for 40 years. But it's almost a complete car so I was real lucky. So, now we know that the color code digits 6 – 8 – 0 are punched on the build card is more important than color code 605 printed at the top of it! It is very interesting: why they did it? Why they’ve printed 605 and changed to it to 680? From the trim code 405 we can figure out that is a GREEN Vinyl & Texture Glow Fabric; not a TURQUOISE!!! Here's the picture of the plate in back of the engine compartment and also two pictures of my original upholstery that I used to make patterns. One upholstery picture has some fabric that is not sun faded so you can see the original color better. Both of the factory colors are sort of close to the same looking to me. But if you look at the part of fabric that never saw the sun, it is closer to the green than to the turquoise. I thought it was turquoise but can see that that is wrong now. Extreme Veteran Posts: 443 Location: Beaumont TX | Regarding the colors, it really looks like turquoise on the fabric that went between the seats on the bottom of the picutre and the greener color fabric that went behind or under the seat on the right hand side of the picture. I might be slow to the party here but did just figure out that the 1955 Plymouth body numbers are directly related to the VIN number (which would make sense, I guess), i.e. body number 2771 vs the VIN that starts with 22 and ends with 771. I have the VIN, is the serial number the SO number on the data plate? I thought that stood for special order? Or are they saying VIN OR a serial number? Danielle at Historical needs the VIN number (which is sometimes called the Serial Number). The number that is on the aluminum tag that is on the driver's door post.
