Did anyone see the Clyde Horst collection that was sold at Mecum yesterday?
https://www.mecum.com/articles/clydes-chrome-plated-ode-to-1956/
The 56 Dodge sold for $195,000
The 56 Fireflite for $170,000
The 56 New Yorker for $140,000
The 56 Belvedere for $110,000
These were all AACA Preservation award winners of cars restored in the 1990's.
Each one really gorgeous.

I didn't expect there to be that big of a price difference between the '56 Plymouth and Dodge.

Based on the 12 year restoration, I wonder whether Clyde made any money on the 56 Dodge. It is gorgeous but $195K? Really?

I am going to continue to make my 56 Dodge "better" (than when I bought it) but not, and never, "perfect".

I can relate to the 12 year restoration time frame. It took me a year to get the A/C installed in my CRL and now going on 9 months for the new headliner.

.
If anybody has or ever finds a photo of the cowl data tag for Clyde Horst's 56 Dodge convertible, could they please post it up here on the forum? (Thanks in advance (TIA))

I previously posted photos of his car, and, in particular, the interior in the 56 Dodge Trim Code thread, but I still don't know for sure what the trim code is/was for that weather-resistant Cordagrain (vinyl) blue and white interior.
Seeing the cowl data tag would help that thread.

I will send you a picture of the tag as soon as the Mecum truck gets here with the car.
