Would Imperial rear brake drums fit on New Yorker hubs? I am just trying to get a car rolling to so I can get it moved to me. It's a 57 New Yorker It has no rear brake drums. I have several extra Imperial rear brake drums but no New Yorker ones. Or is there something that would prevent them from going on?

Different axle hub size, too big?? Or different diameter drums are some basic issues.

There might not be an issue with the size of the drums (12") BUT I think the issue is the bolt circle size. I think the Chryslers are 5 x 4.5 whereas the Imperials are 5 x 5.5, i.e. won't fit

This is correct. Imperial has a larger size bolt pattern and will not interchange with other Chrysler products

Then I presume it would be possible to take Imperial hub/drums front and back if one would like to use Imperial rims?

The rear axle shafts are a larger diameter so the rear drums will not fit on a Chrysler axle. The front spindles are different too but I don't remember how.

Front spindles are different due to spindle diameter. Imperials use A3/A5 bearings instead of the common A2/A6

that is an Imperial dilemma on the restoration process, a lot of parts are exclusive, even between 57-58-59 what at first look seem identical cars they are not.
