Will a set of 383 B block "906" heads (from a 1970 Chrysler) work with a 1961 413 in an Imperial? If not, does anyone have a chart/guide to which heads fit which blocks?

The heads will fit just fine on a 413 but the compression ratio will be lower. It will drop from 10 to1 (advertised) to about 9 to 1. You will need to use the 70 rocker shafts and valve covers.

Thanks for the advice. My friend traded a 58 Edsel for a 62 Newport and a bought a 383 to swap in, then managed to revive the Newport's 361. He has everything I need to use these heads. Do I need new push rods or will they line up alright? If I need new ones, do I buy 383B pushrods?

Not only will the chamber size affect the compression ratio but I believe the bolt pattern at the end of the head changed at some point...affects accessory mounting brackets.

There was a change in the hydraulic lifters from early to late but I think the pushrods will still fit, try them and see.

The heads will mechanically fit/bolt on. Always check valve clearance. As stated cr will change. Don't go by blueprint volume, measure or "cc" the volume of the actual heads you plan on using. The 413 should be hydraulic valvetrain, use its pushrods as the heads were used on both B and RB blocks without change. Pushrods for B blocks are shorter as deck is shorter.
