Expert 5K+ Posts: 9855 Location: Lower Mainland BC | I presume GC = Golden Commando Regarding air con: "My Dad switched his 1957 Fury over to a 1958 Chrysler New Yorker. It had a price tag of $4,538 including that rare option, air conditioning. Chrysler owned AirTemp, and capitalized on that by introducing air conditioning across the entire car line in 1955. Prior to that, it had been an option on the Imperial in 1952, coming in the Chrysler line in 1953 (it had been planned for 1943 but only made it as far as the brochures). The 1958 air conditioner was significant because everything was now under the hood instead of having some components in the trunk. " Ref: http://www.allpar.com/history/inside/plymouth-6.html So yes, it would seem that a 58 *could * potentially have an A/C unit. Heck that green 56 Imperial coupe for sale recently had A/C and the auxiliary gas heater for pete's sake. However, as you know, finding a photo of said unicorn might be difficult (maybe the people who ordered the GC350 engines didn't want HP-robbing A/C compressors) : 56 Imperial with A/C and gas heater: Edited by 56D500boy 2017-10-13 4:32 PM | ||

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9855 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Here is some evidence that the 1958 GC 350 existed with A/C: The water pump for that combo had a Part Number (PN) 1818 610 in both the Fury and D500.
