1957 Dodge Suburban Station Wagon. Neither dash lights or the turn signals will not work. Having trouble finding fuse box to see it that is the problems, Where it the fuse box located or are they in-line fuses?

No fuse box, there is a breaker built inside the headlight switch. I had the same issue with my 58 Dodge, and I changed the whole headlight switch and it solved the problem.

Thanks for the quick response. Did this cure the turn signal problem also?

The turn signal problem must be somewhere else, i dont remember my turn signals not working, although the parking lights did not work, as this is directly related to the headlight switch, and that problem was cured by a new headlight switch too.

None of my dash lights have voltage, but my headlights, turn signals and park lights all work fine on my '58 Dodge. And my dash bulbs are good. I assume that narrows down the problem to the rheostat on the light switch. How likely is it to be able to fix one of those? Where can I get a new switch if I can't fix it? Would one of these GM light switches work with my original shaft?

The rheostats are the problem. I probably played with/tested more than 25 originals and never found one than performed as a true rheostat for more than a short time! If you want a true rheostat function that will last, send it to Jeff Carter for a rebuild. If you need a "core" to send to Jeff, let me know and I might have one for you.

I know this will sound silly, but have you tried rotating the rheostat on the switch numerous times, first?

It is what was adviced to me by an old mechanic when I changed my switch, and I had the same situation as you do. This will wear off crud and vert-de-gris accumulated on the rheostat spring for years, and after a dozen rotations, contact was made and the lights came back at once and it worked flawlessly after that.

Yes, I actually have, hoping that it would work, but no dice. I talked with JC Auto and they need $185 to rebuild it. Unfortunately, that is a little beyond my budget for this. I will attempt to take it apart and fix it myself, but in the meantime, I will need a replacement. The chevy switch I listed above won't work because it only uses the one knob for both functions. But the '56 Dodge/Plymouth switch & the '57-'58 DeSoto switch both look to be direct replacements for it. I was able to mount my Dodge knobs onto them with no issues. Fortunately, I have 3-4 of these switches laying around that all work, so I will just install one of those. The DeSoto would be better because I think it has similar electrical connectors on it.

I didn't think it would be that expensive! What car is it for?
