I had 1 starter motor as spare for my 392 but now it is on the car because the other is ... shot: too much works to renew it. The guy told me to find another and with 2 make one but 392 starters are not very common and price of shipping this "thing" to France would be very high !!!

Phil,
I installed a Powermaster starter on my '57 Chrysler w/392 at least 4 years ago.
The main problem with the old starter, it was very slow cranking when hot.
I didn't know anything about tooth count, just bought one from Hothemiheads at Carlisle.
Easy to install, the starter rotates on a ring to get the best clearance from heat and shortest
distance for wires. I couldn't believe this tiny little starter could do the job. It really turns the
engine over. It works great. I have had no problems since the install.
