Lots of very nice Mopars but only four from the 1955 to 1961 era and only one of those was new (to me), a 56 Savoy 2dr post (with 440/727 etc).

The other two, besides mine, were big buck restorations of a 58 Desoto FireDome Sportsman (Canadian with 354 poly) and a 58 Windsor (also 354 poly). I didn't actually compete (got there too late to register) but it would have been a waste of money. There is no competing with the multiple award-winning 58 Desoto.

Here are some photos. (NOTE: As it happened I parked my 56 Dodge tail-to-tail with a Dodge Neon that is likely painted in the 95 Dodge Neon "Intense Blue" that I chose to paint the darker areas of my car with.)

Lots of nice cars that I would have (in a different life)

Some really nice looking cars there, including yours. The work you put into the paint shows off your car nicely.
Competition is for suckers anyway. You're really only competing with yourself for how much you like and enjoy your own car anyway. Trophies aren't worth the plastic they are made of.

Thanks for the comments Nathan. My paint is still a 10 or 20 footer. But it is much better than when I bought the car, so WIN.

I know that my car can never compete with the $150K+ restorations but still some kind of recognition would be nice, i.e. "BEST IMPROVED BARN FIND by A Cheap Ash"

Your car looks beautiful, and most of our cars are work in progress. Keep it a hobby and do the work yourself, and you'll appreciate the results more so. I've been working on mine for about a year now, and really love seeing the transformation. Most people have no idea what I started with and only see the flaws. I don't care as this is my car, and only I know how much time money and sweat I put into it. It's never about trophies, but the love connection you're making with a survivor car that might not ever have made it back on the road without YOU . Here's where I'm at after replacing the quarter panel, and putting new shoes on Diane, Next up interior work
