Veteran Posts: 279 Location: Klein, TX | I am posting this here as well as in the Parts wanted section. I'm in need of two rear brake drums for a '57 Desoto Firesweep. Any leads would be appreciated. 713 898-6928 w5sg.bill@gmail.com

Expert Posts: 1351 Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | According to my books, they are 11" x 2 1/2"? There are 11" x 2 1/2"[front & rear] on ebay listed for 57-61 MOPARs. Are those correct for your car? Sometimes they don't list the drum size in the title, so go to "advanced" search and put in search description and there might be more there?

Veteran Posts: 279 Location: Klein, TX | I have not been able to install the drums/hubs that I got from BigM, in that I have the car over at the body and paint shop. I did check the drums out and they seem to be in great condition. I'll have to wait till the car is back home to install them.

On the rear, the drums will need to be pulled off of the axles. On the new re-pops, the outer drum section is formed together with the inner hub, as a 1-piece assembly. New brake linings may be too thick for the drums to move...forget the fix, though.
