Location: Mid Atlantic | Marc,
This is a right side. There were two different styles of these antennas for the 1957-59 Plymouth and Dodge cars. One is an early style the other a later style. I cannot remember which came first though. The one you have uses the thin rubber/plastic base gasket. The other base has a thin bottom all the way around and the base gasket has the taller side on it. If you look at your second picture from the top the base is thin like that all the way around on the other style.
The 1838-148 is just a casting number and is not showing up in the 1955-58 Mopar parts book. Uusually if it has the 18 at the beginning of the number it's 1958 or a 17 is a 1957 part. This is not always the case though.

Location: little rock, AR | I have that same one and I have the other side that has #: 1127,1838149 . The way I typed it is the way the #'s appear on the base. I pulled mine off of a '61 Ply. Belve.

Location: Arvada, Colorado (NW Denver Metro Area) | Is this a parts antenna? I could use one or if some one has the little black oval bushing that the antenna comes out of the base thru for my car. Been looking for a crusty one that I can salvage the oval bushing off of.
Thanks for any consideration on this need... |
