Supposedly, she runs & drives well with an ok interior: (1955 Coronado craigslist.jpg) (1955 Coronado craigslist2.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 1955 Coronado craigslist.jpg (10KB - 846 downloads) 1955 Coronado craigslist2.jpg (6KB - 299 downloads)

Expert Posts: 3070 Location: Scotland | that is an unusual colour combo for a Cornado and looks a nice old car too,Craigslist seems to be a better place for getting cars at sensible prices.

Expert Posts: 1918 Location: Hell's Outhouse - a.k.a. Buckeye, Arizona | If I had $9,500, I'd sure as hell snag this one in addition to the Coronado that's John's earmarked for me side-by-side in the driveway within a few weeks (thinking $1,000 each for transport). Yeah Mark, in addition to the one in John's yard that's the most common turquoise body/white sweep/black roof, I've seen '55 Coronados with turquoise body/black sweep/white roof & black body/white sweep/turquoise roof, but never the white body/black sweep/turquoise roof combo. REALLY sharp.

Expert Posts: 1918 Location: Hell's Outhouse - a.k.a. Buckeye, Arizona | Makes me wonder if there's a '55 Coronado out there with black body/turquoise sweep/white roof. Or a white body/turquoise sweep/black roof..... Expert Posts: 1918 Location: Hell's Outhouse - a.k.a. Buckeye, Arizona | I hear ya, Jessica. My comment above was made nearly 6 months ago, though - Valentine's Day, in fact. That said, since yours was viewed and bought with a turquoise (Coronado Green) roof, I haven't REALLY "seen" one just yet. BTW, did a new member (guy named John) happen to contact you concerning a set of '55 Chrysler wheels? I told him you were going to take possession of your Coronado next month & referred you to him, thinking you might have use for 'em. EDIT: Here's the thread - user name "Jolly-John" - http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=26877&... Edited by 1955Coronado 2009-08-06 1:47 AM

Elite Veteran Posts: 1054 Location: Ny | I hadn't even realized your post was that long ago. D'OH! John emailed me, and we are staying in touch concerning his wheels. Spares are always handy, and I have no idea what the condition of the wheels on the car are like. Tires are likely going to be the first investment since the ones on it are so completely dry-rotted they don't hold air for long. I guess I will find out how straight they are soon! Ps. Thanks for the reference.

Dang, if it goes any lower I may have to buy it! Has anyone on the forum examined this car? I wonder what is wrong with it. Looks solid in the pics.

Elite Veteran Posts: 963 Location: San Antonio, TX | I have seen this car in person. The roof is rusted through at the drip rail. Pretty bad actually. I think it has gotten down into the post as well. So there is more rust elsewhere for sure. It wouldn't start the day I went to look at it. Looks to be the original motor. The interior is actually pretty nice and would clean up pretty well. The chrome is just so-so. Pitted pretty good and lots of spider-webbing. The other '55 has a windsor spitfire motor in it. It was rebuilt recently is the word. I heard it run. Nice, no smoke. The chrome on this one is much nicer. These cars have been for sale for a very long time. I've been watching them for a least six months. I however "need" a 2 door 55 DeSoto.

San Diego car. Congrats and welcome to the forum. You might want to start a new thread under the Members Rides sub-forum: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=28 Once there, click on the New Thread buttton, add an appropriate new subject line, e.g. "Hyemon's 55 Desoto Coronado" and start typing away in the message box. You should add some photos of your Coronado (from San Diego - that's a killer) to your post. Here are some hints regarding posting photos: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64340&... Here is one that I've grabbed from the internet. Must be close to yours: Good Luck.
