A lot of 57 Chryslers have that grille side-trim that appears to hang down. How difficult is it to align that trim? As far as 57 Dodges are concerned, you'll see a lot of them that have one or both of their lower bumpers installed hanging downward. That displacement is very obvious on the Coronets and Royals, which do not have the 'teeth' on them, that the Custom Royals have; on the CR's, those teeth tend to hide the visual effect of drooping lower bumpers. On the Dodges, repositioning the bumpers, onto their mounting brackets, is easy to do.

I'm thinking of pulling the bumpers and having them rechromed over the winter so I'll address the droopy trim then.

Veteran Posts: 131 | 60 Imp - 2014-08-13 7:37 AM Very Nice Car!. What engine and trans does she run? Steve It's a 354 poly/3 spd tourqeflite but I just picked up a '57 392 out of an Imperial that may find it's way under the hood.

Exner Expert 19,174 posts. Neil passed away 18 Sep 2015. You will be missed, Neil! Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | That 354 Poly is a great engine. Looks like the OEM carburetor brass tag is still installed on it. You could, always, get its heads 'worked' a little bit, have the camshaft re-ground, and, of course, get its distributor and vacuum advance be re-curved. That should give you lots of increased performance, and, some ear candy from the camshaft grind. The CHRY-boys can tell you about the OEM painting of the hood springs and hinges, but an easy afternoon's job would be masking off EVERYTHING around the hood, and spraying gloss-black onto its under-side, where you see the sprayed-over undercoating. The undercoating, obviously, should be black, so just spray paint over the painted-over undercoating...and voila; instant OEM. Looks like you are missing a hood bolt; you really want to get a bolt installed there at your earliest convenience. There are bolts missing from the heater housing, too? Big M, on our website, is a commercial salvor; he can sell you whatever large-or-small parts/pieces that you're needing. Edited by d500neil 2014-08-21 11:21 PM

Veteran Posts: 131 | Thanks for the tips Neil. Which missing hood bolt are you referring to exactly ? It may appear as though one is missing from the hinge (pass. side) but it's just a shadow.
