Location: central Illinois | Common question. Here's a 300 club link: http://www.chrysler300club.com/how/crank/crank.html I ended up using a butter knife (hope someone has a thread on it). You basicly have to have the handle at 12 oclock, then at 3 oclock, push the clip in while grasping the handle and wiggling it off. I've removed 8 so far and none came off easily. There seems to be a chalky substance between the surface of the shaft and handle that keeps them from coming off. I plan on applying some sort of grease to them when it's time for reinstall. |

Location: The Great Northwest | When B5RT says they don't come off easily, he's not kidding. The last few I removed took four hands - two to work the clip and two to pull on the handle hard enough to get it off the shaft. Just make sure the clip is ready to move when you exert the large effort to get the handle to move. |

Location: WA/USA | ALRIGHT! I made the tool and got the window crank off. Thanks again for the assistance.
However, on a 60 Plymouth, the door handle only points between about 1 and 3 O'clock (lift to open, push to lock). The panel cant be pushed in like the window crank, so I cant even see a clip. The advice given for 55 does not not appear to apply. Anyone with advise specific to 60 Plymouth style door handle removal?

Duh. There was a cap I could not see. Removed it and found 1/2 nut. Job done! |
