Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Location: .Norfolk..Mafia.. ,England UK | In,,,,,,,,, Seattle WA, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=14030... Description... This has to be one of the best looking cars of 1957. There are lots a '57 Chevy's but how many '57 Dodge's do you see? It does not hurt that it's red and white. Did I mention "fins"? Dodge called it "SWEEPT-WING". This car has glamour and style like you will never see again. You will love the very straight body. The chrome is excellent. The original interior is in great condition. The body and paint are so nice because it was left with the local college ( Yakima Washington ) for 5 years. They are the ones that stripped it to bare metal, painted and rechromed the chrome. They also replaced a floor pan. 325 V-8 engine. Push button automatic transmission. Power steering. Power brakes. Torsion-Aire front suspension with torsion bars. Dual rear antenna's. This is a very interesting car. It had the same owner for 44 years. The guy I bought the car from is 92 years young and still going. I dealt with his youngest son who was 8 years old when they bought the car. (the Dad okayed the sale). I found no indication of rust anywhere other than the floor pan. The underside is clean and good looking. We have serviced and safety checked it and it's ready to go. We installed new Coker wide white radials. Also the 1959 Dodge spinner hub caps. Check out this "You Tube" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri2rQR49EtQ Don't forget to watch our video of the Dodge running and driving on our web page dragers.com This is a keeper. I can't wait to take the Dodge to a show or two. I know it will draw lots of attention. It runs and drives like it looks. Cond # 2+. Posts: 19146 Location: bishop, ca | Well, I hope the seller doesn't take this "Sweept Wing" Dodge to a MoPar related car show, altho it might do well at a general-admission Chubbie-type event. The P/T plate confirms that this car was built with the standard single exhaust pipe, with the standard 4-barrel carb. The dual glass packs were probably added when the second tail pipe was installed. The interior was originally (coded for) gold/black; where the gray/black trim panels were obtained, I don't know; the black Royal seat cloth material is available at SMS (which should match the appearance of the trim panel's designs). Whoever undercoated the car, recently (it is coded for OEM undercoating) got the stuff on the rear areas of the frame rails, while avoiding applying it to the remainder of the frame rails, but, the undercoating should have been applied at least across the top, and sides of the gas tank, as part of the final undercoating application, on the assembly line, when the inner fenders got their 'coating application. This was a very nicely optioned car, manual brakes notwithstanding---aftermarket P/B added) , with Solex tinted glass, and all the Accessory Group options, except that this car had the standard non-spinner wheel covers (hence: the installation of on-hand 1959 spinners?). Unfortunately, the P/T plate does not confirm the installation of dual antennae; however, given the correct red/white exterior, and the Option Groups installed, it is probable that this car might have had the dualies be OEM to the car; the Broadcast Sheet and IBM card will confirm the antenna situation and the car's other options. Given that this car has an aftermarket heel pad, it probably came OEM with the standard (black, in this case) "color- coordinated" rubber floor mats, instead of the rarely-option-ordered "carpeting", which was standard only on the CRL's and the Custom Sierra wagons. The car's detail-painting/finish, and certain items like improperly-located horns (one of which appears to be vintage pre-1957) and, of course, the Hemi-Orange[?] engine paint and the gray/black/custom interior indicates that the 'restorer' did not have much reference material available to him when this car was made to be all-pretty-looking, for its re-sale. Without having a clue as to its real mechanical condition, it would be very difficult to estimate its true-fair market value, as being a "restored" automobile. This is a definite Caveat-Emptormobile. To quote or erstwhile 'president' : "Get 'er DONE"....

Account Inactive by Request Posts: 1601 | Well. well, small world! Drager's Classics is a long time collector dealership in the Seattle area. He has always been very heavy into bowtie-stuff and muscle cars. I don't know much about him, but have seen some of the cars that he has handled, some nice, some not so nice. I would say this one looks very nice, but being a NATIVE of Yakima, Washington, the only college there is a trade school that teaches auto body among other things. Five years at that shop would not speak highly for the car!! The kids doing it are 18 to 22 years old, some very highly motivated. But it is a school, not a show-car shop!! Funny, I've been there dozens of times in the recent past and not seen this car at all?
