Location: New Castle PA | I posted some pics of a Plymouth wagon that showed up at a local car show last weekend, to my surprise. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) is a 3-day "Back to the Fifties" event in New Castle PA. I once again took my '57 DeSoto Firedome sedan. I was surprised one more time when these two cars showed up. They are both gorgeous, but I'm not in favor of the hood louvers stamped into the Chrysler wagon. I have seen the Fury before, and know who the owner is, but I could not locate the owner of the Chrysler, so I have no idea where it's from. I've never seen it before.

Location: So. Cal | Nice cars. What does the "Back to the '50's" event consist of? Just a car show or more? I'm a little confused though because I am seeing more than just '50's cars there. What is the cutoff? |

Location: New Castle PA | The "Back to the Fifties" has evolved over the years in order to encourage more cars to attend. Now the theme is "Crusing the Decades" and most any kind of "special" vehicle is allowed in. The highlight seems to be the burnouts that the supercars do in the parking area near the old pool. They thunder through the park in a loop, announcing that "it's time for the burnouts" and then assemble and for some reason, everyone LOVES watching them burn thousands of miles of rubber off in seconds!!! Here's the event info on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Backtothe50sWeekendInc/ That link has a couple of short videos, including one of a burnout.

Location: So. Cal | So nothing to do with the original theme anymore. That's really disappointing. Burnouts can be fun at a drag race themed event, but not really great for a real '50's theme.
But if it's just another car show, then no big loss.
