Can someone please decipher the symbols on the 1960 DeSoto hood ornament?  It looks like a wine glass, star or cross and keylock.  What's the significance of these symbols?

Oooops, photo file too big.

The locks are part of Hernando's coat of arms & heraldry. I don't know why that symbol was considered worth noting back then. My family surname's coat of arms shows shackles & chains on it. What an advertisement! Maybe it's a threat of what they would do to anyone that opposes them? As for the goblets, I don't know where that comes from. My only guess is it has to do with his original quest to find gold in the new world.

Thanks.  I'll hoist my goblet, filled with beer of course, to that!
