Location: northern germany | It has the inner fender cut-outs! A real 60 Cross Ram Adventurer? Can you say rare? That price is a steal. |

I wonder how much damage the fire really did:

Location: Williams California | Looks like the left front tire caught fire, and spread to the side of the engine bay.
Damage looks fairly minor.

Pretty sure. The engine compartment would have had to been entirely engulfed to spread downward to the tire. Heat travels up, and would go into the engine bay from a burning tire. |

Location: CA | How do you turn a honey like that over to the insurance company? There is definitely damage but it doesn't look all that bad but it's hard to say without being in front of it, smelling the interior, etc.. is it me or doesn't it look like all the heat came from the voltage regulator? |

Location: northern germany | I do not think it is a just coincidence, that the burned paint on the fender is directly over the wheel center. Also the engine compartment does not look that bad. Just saw a new car with a burning rear wheel. |

| Copart won't show the VIN which would verify a real ram car. I see at least one thing under the hood that it doesn't have a ram car should have.

Given the rarity of the inner fenders with cutouts for the 60 (only) 122" WB cars, it is probably a ram car. The 300 fenders do not fit the shorter wheelbase cars, as far as I know.
So it is either from a Desoto or a Windsor. I do not think a Windsor with the cross ram was ever produced, very unlikeley with the RB 383. What is missing under the hood? |

Location: Alaska | With that much heat, the radiator most likely needs replacing. It looks like the hard to find ram pieces are all there but the air cleaners. The left carb may not be repairable. |

Location: northern germany | I'm surprised about the lack of hype here. 60 Desotos with the Ram option are ULTRA rare. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the only one left.
I have no numbers, but I doubt they build much more than 20 units, if at all. Imo this beats the 60 300 in every way.
The body has better proportions, the front end looks cooler, the rear end looks cooler, the side trim too, so does the dash
(I know this just my opinion) and the interior and of course the 383 is the prime FL engine, that beats the 392 and 413.
It is the sturdiest most reliable engine with the best rod/stroke ratio that revs like a little italian 4 cylinder ohc engine.

When I worked in a VW garage many years ago, one mechanic used an angle grinder to chop an exhaust pipe on a car. Nearby was a battery hooked up to charger, with the little caps open..... was a nice bang. |
