Hey All! I'm looking to order material here in the next few weeks for my seats and am trying to get a general estimate to what I need, has anyone done a stock Belvedere interior with the 4 cloth inserts that look kinda like bucket seats? And is so How many yards of cloth and Vinyl did it take? Thanks!

Long answer: If you are referring only to the woven cloth on seat inserts and door panels, I’ve alway been told 5 yards, but I think that’s often overkill. It seems to me that I’ve had lots left over when I’ve done that. I’d suggest having your trimmer look at what you want and give their opinion. Like lots of other material (carper in your home, silk for ties, etc) it’s not always as easy as just calculating sq inches, etc.

Short answer: you’ll need 3-5 yards, but I’d always rather have more than I need. Even at $150/yard, having extra to account for mistakes/flaws/etc. is better than scrambling to get more from slow distributors and hoping it matches as it might not be from the same lot.

As an aside - ALWAYS verify your cloth REALLY matches when you get a sample. Take more than a quick glance to compare what you got as a sample vs what you need. I’ve experienced the expensive, time consuming frustrations of this.

I recommend that you answer the question yourself. Keep in mind that usually the material only goes in one direction so you can't turn your patterns by 90 degrees, as the pattern will be going in the wrong direction. Measure out the sizes of what you need, add 1 inch on each edge to account for the seams, and then plot it out on your fabric. 1 yard of material is usually 5ft wide so it is 3'x5' and 4 yards is 12' x 5' etc.
